Land Rover and Odo Fioravanti Design Studio present “Freeride” at Fuorisalone 2016

The project, inspired by the philosophy of the new #rangerover #evoqueconvertible, the first luxury compact convertible #suv in the world, is a result of the collaboration with #odofioravantidesignstudio and celebrates the fusion between the world of product #design and automotive #design.

Land Rover, the famous British car maker, presents FreeRide, a project inspired by the characteristics of the new #rangerover #evoqueconvertible, exhibited from 12 to 17 April at Spazio Click in Via Forcella, as part of the Tortona #design Week circuit.

The installation, designed and produced purposely for the #design Week 2016 by Odo Fioravanti #design Studio, recreates around the car – placed in the centre – three prototypes linked to the world of #freeride sport which interpret the style of the Convertible, drawing inspiration from freedom, movement and action, contextualized within three corresponding environments where the vehicle is used: road, mountain and coastal, in an open-air setting.

To emphasise the versatility of the #evoqueconvertible, the car for all seasons, the installation features the car on a sloping prism facing the concepts on three inclined sticks, which – thanks to context videos – suggest and evoke the environment where the three objects can be used: the water, the road and the snow. The #evoqueconvertible, together with the three prototypes, are therefore part of the installation itself, in a unique combination which simultaneously enhances the #design of the forms and the characteristics that inspired Gerry McGovern, #design Director and Chief #design Officer of Land Rover.

In addition, during the FuoriSalone week, three wireframes will be exhibited within the Tortona #design Week circuit. The sculptures of the #rangerover #evoqueconvertible, made of aluminium to scale 1:1, have been created by the Land Rover designers using advanced computer techniques enabling them to faithfully reproduce the forms of the car, including the wheels in 3D and both rows of seats.

The wireframes, which appeared for the first time in London in November in some of the most exclusive and prestigious locations in the city, including the famous department store Harrods in Brompton Road, Knightsbridge, and the prestigious Mayfair, will be exhibited in Milan at FuoriSalone 2016.

RANGE ROVER EVOQUE CONVERTIBLE

The #rangerover #evoqueconvertible combines the bold #design and elegance typical of the Evoque with the most complete range of accessories and a sophisticated folding soft top, perfect for an uncompromising convertible for all seasons.

The attractive new model combines traditional #rangerover luxury with an original four-seater #design and a versatile boot, transforming the new #rangerover #evoqueconvertible into the most exclusive and roomy convertible in the world.

Available in two luxury versions, #evoqueconvertible comfortably accommodates 4 passengers, offers the latest Jaguar Land Rover infotainment system and unrivalled all-terrain performance for a convertible.

The alluring exterior #design of the #evoqueconvertible is based on a sophisticated shaped fabric top with a sharp profile, faithful to the original #design. Its fan opening mechanisms remain flush with the bodywork panels, giving the vehicle a harmonious streamlined look with the top open. The fabric top is the largest currently used in the automotive sector.

Available in a range of 13 colours, including the new metallic Baltoro Ice and Waitomo Grey, the new #rangerover #evoqueconvertible, the first deliveries of which are scheduled for the beginning of September, can already be ordered from the Dealers with prices starting from € 53,400.
