Lema - Preview Salone del Mobile 2016

For over 40 years, Lema has championed the ‘Made in Italy’ aesthetic, by expertly mixing innovation and tradition and turning quality and personalisation into its unique selling point. Lema’s strength lies in its extraordinary manufacturing ability and typically Italian excellence, that have allowed the company to combine the values and technological efficiencies of a large enterprise with fine and unrivalled craftsmanship.

Hospitality and conviviality, relaxation and warmth: these are the words that best define #lema style. A brand that has always been characterized by a light and décontracté approach to #design.

Expertly treated materials, such as woods, glass and metals are worked in different ways to build products that convey refinement, where the elegance of the shapes meets the particular care to the different finishing: interpretations of the Mediterranean life style, essence of the made in Italy.

First in Italy to propose custom modular systems for the living/bedroom area, thanks to a strong technical know-how, #lema was able to evolve, throughout its 40 year history, building a complete range for the home, that can be modulated according to personal tastes and needs, consisting of large furniture systems to chairs, sofas, tables, storage, beds and furnishing accessories. In recent years, Lema’s products have transpired to a sophisticated and contemporary lifestyle: this is Lema Casa, a place where #design enters in tippy toes, away from clamour and pretentiousness; refuge, free of restrictions, made of items characterised by a lived atmosphere.

A precise choice of taste that #lema has been pursued since the beginning being able to combine an industrial manufacturing process with the attention to detail characteristic of manual craftsmanship.

Transforming the craftsmanship ability in innovative production processes the brand has been able to offeralways a product that is unique, adaptable and tailor made, but with the advantages of a modern mass production, thus continuing to keep that attention to detail that it’s can be obtained only with the work of a man.

It’s from this philosophy that are born the products that have made the brand leader in the made to measure field: from Selecta wall system programme to Armadio al Centimetro until Walk-in Closet.

At #salonedelmobile 2016, the brand reconfirms its home archetype proposing new pieces that, through grace of their #design and refined finishings, tell the usual discretion of #lema style.

New evergreens, each defined by a precise aesthetic trait but at the same time with a common stylistic suggestion inspired by an original reinterpretation of the typical ’50 and ’60 #design styles, with a very contemporary twist.

Among the latest products, the formal neatness typical of the #design language by Piero Lissoni, art director of the brand, creates Luce. Starting from the classic iconography of the table, Lissoni has worked on the exaggeration of its characteristics by subtraction: wooden top and a die-cast aluminium structure identify themselves in the absolute lightness of the #design thanks to minimum volumes and thicknesses. A new proposal with a contemporary, almost technical imprint, designed to furnish both refined domestic environments and sophisticated contract spaces.

The brand also renews its collaboration with Christophe Pillet who signs STEWARD, an elegant wooden container with fine details in lacquered HPL (thickness 6 mm) and painted metal base combining the charm of an handmade piece with a contemporary industrial #design approach. An essential cube in heat-treated wood, with a vague retro flavor, that presents folding doors to hide large compartments and drawers at the service of the living area.

Layering of styles, with vintage references, also for Graceland, round table, again by Christophe Pillet, who plays on neat and rational shapes and is characterize by the strong personality of the metal frame, combined with the top proposed here in the stylish finish Argilla.

Among the top interpreters of contemporary Italian style worldwide, Lema was founded in 1970 by the Meroni Family, who still manage the company today, with a strong sense for tradition that dates back to the early post-war years. The group consists of three #design collections: home and contract divisions, and the International Office Concept department.

Lema was the first Italian company to develop a load-bearing side-panel system in a variety of finishes, and the made-to-measure wardrobe, to suit individual client’s needs. These two products are symbols of the level of service that the company offers, today complemented by a complete catalogue that includes tables, beds, chairs and all-finishing touches, in addition to the latest upholstery collections. Products with a sophisticated appeal, all characterized by a comprehensive customisation system in order to meet the varying aesthetic and functional demands of the client. In fact, what distinguishes #lema within the international #design scene is its strong ability to develop custom-made solutions together with top architects, for some of the most prestigious contract projects that follow the brand worldwide. http://www.lemamobili.com/en
