On the occasion of the Milan #design Week, #ebanogallery (Via Ventura, 6 - Milan) will host the opening of the exhibition “DIALOGUE” curated by Rabi Diop.
The exhibition, which is part of the #venturalambrate circuit, connects different artistic languages and is the first “fuorisalone show” for the first gallery in Italy entirely dedicated to African art, #design, music and fashion.
Ebano Gallery reveals itself as an eclectic venue where both experts and interested members of the public can encounter an ancient and simultaneously very lively culture. And #ebanogallery is a place where everyone can embark on a multi-sensory journey through the colours, lights, shapes, scents and sounds of the entire African continent. From painting to sculpture, from photography to video art, from fashion to #design: this careful selection of works of art, clothing and one-off pieces curated by Rabi Diop recreates the African world and soul and presents them in a highly intelligent and at the same time playful way. And also with a sense of joy. The works created by Ebano Gallery’s artists offer a full perspective on the contemporary African art scene. The selection ranges from the creations of the Senegalese designer Ousmane Mbaye, famous for his work with metals, to the textile creations by Johanna Bramble characterised by unusual combinations of natural fibres, with materials such as metal, plastic, leather as well as optic fibres. Or from Murielle Kabile, who lends another dimension to hair, whatever its nature, to Parisian designer Maud Villaret and her entirely handmade and Africa-inspired jewels which play with symbols and ethnic allusions.
This entire world will be presented during the show “Dialogue”: a perfect and emotional mix of art, fashion and #design from an enchanting and alluring continent, put together specially for Milan.
