Cersaie 2016: 34th edition of the show devoted to architecture, design, exhibitions, tile layers and consumers
Cersaie, the International Exhibition of Ceramic Tile and Bathroom Furnishings, is back for its thirty-fourth edition. Held in the #bologna exhibition centre from Monday 26 to Friday 30 September, the show will attract tens of thousands of visitors, including industry professionals, journalists and consumers from all over the world. The figures speak for themselves. The six product sectors showcased in a 156,000 square metre floor space at #cersaie will be represented by 852 exhibitors from 43 different countries (an increase over last year), from Argentina to Japan, from the UK to the UAE, from all over Europe and the United States, and as far away as Vietnam. It is precisely in its international reach that #cersaie is the undisputed world leader with no fewer than 335 non-Italian exhibitor companies, a figure that is increasing and stands at almost a third of the total. Ceramic tiles is the best represented sector with 491 companies (including 237 non-Italian), followed by bathroom furnishings with 194, confirming Cersaie’s position as the largest exhibition in the bathroom furnishing sector in Italy and one of the leaders in Europe. After the ribbon-cutting ceremony held in Piazza Costituzione, #cersaie 2016 will open with the inaugural conference entitled “Fair trade and competitiveness of Italian manufacturing in the global marketplace” (Monday 26 September, 11.00 am Palazzo dei Congressi). After the opening remarks given by BolognaFiere Chairman Franco Boni and the President of the Emilia Romagna regional government Stefano Bonaccini, next to speak will be the Minister for Economic Development Carlo Calenda, the Chairman of Sole 24 Ore Giorgio Squinzi, Vice Chairman of Confindustria for Europe Lisa Ferrarini and Chairman of Confindustria Ceramica Vittorio Borelli. The #event will be moderated by Maria Latella from Sky Tg 24. The exhibition Cer-Sail, an #event exploring the world of ports, marinas and docks, will be officially opened at 3.00 pm in Hall 30. Then at 6.00 pm, the Ducal Palace in Sassuolo, the world capital of the ceramic tile industry, will host the Ceramics of Italy International Press Conference. Following the introductory remarks by Luigi Tripodi, Administrative Director of the Estense Galleries, Michele Scannavini, Chairman of the Italian trade agency ICE, and Andrea Rossi, Undersecretary to the Presidency of the Emilia Romagna regional government, talks will be given by Emilio Mussini, Chairman of Confindustria Ceramica for Promotional Activities, on the theme of the international strategies put in place by the association, Andrea Serri, Editor of Cer Magazine, and Cristina Faedi, Head of Promotional Activities of Confindustria Ceramica. The #event will be moderated by Armando Cafiero, Director General of Confindustria Ceramica. The press conference will be concluded by the presentation ceremony for the Journalism Award and the competition Beautiful Ideas, followed by the #cersaie Evening held in the nearby Cavallerizza Ducale. At the Distributor Awards presentation ceremony held during the evening, talks will be given by Claudio Pistoni, Mayor of Sassuolo, along with Vittorio Borelli and Emilio Mussini.
