Diesel Living - Milan Design week 2017

iesel Living hits the desert roads, and finds a barren landscape full of possibilities…

From Arizona to California, the American highway rolls past windblown mesas, spindly cactuses, and sandy no-man’s-lands, where rusty shades of copper, clay, and amber reveal themselves in sunbaked layers of the panorama.

Out here, low-slung houses blend with the land, their inside worlds mingling with the outside terrain in the seasonless heat of the sand flats. A functional maximalism guides the aesthetic towards a distinctive, nature-inspired declaration of Desert Modernism.

Materials of wood, stone, and metal compose strong interiors and resistant exteriors. Minerals come straight from the desert floor into the home. A rigorous sense of the contemporary mirrors the linearity of the twenties and thirties, along with the earthy fusion of home and nature derived from the fifties and sixties.

In the empty spaces, the land of possibilities emerges — a desert landscape…

Diesel Living at #salonedelmobile This year, we are interpreting our first hotel concept. Step up to the reception and check in to a cozier world of hospitality, where domestic comfort welcomes you with the glamour of a fabulous roadside hideaway amid the heat of the desert, and utilitarian details blend with hedonistic abandon.
Relax in the lobby, and lounge in the #event hall; recline in the full suite and step out into the cactus garden — each space reveals another possibility in the new world of the Diesel Hotel. A full range of #dieselliving offerings creates a getaway designed with an injection of the unexpected for the high life.

The #dieselliving Pop-up Home at Fuorisalone, 5Vie district For Fuorisalone 2017, we are proud to introduce the #dieselliving pop-up home, a residence where the entire range of #dieselliving products are united for the first time ever, inside a newly transformed space making its debut to the public. In the heart of Milan’s most historic neighborhood, at Via Cesare Correnti 14, a former thirties-era goldsmith’s atelier is transformed, its industrial artisan workshop spaces reimagined as apartments in Diesel’s palazzo.
This glass-roofed edifice will exhibit our new offerings side by side with our best-selling favorites, composing a range of individual domestic environments. Here, #dieselliving shows its coziest side, with the warmth of the sand dune sun imbuing the urban living space with a stripped-down luxury that mirrors the arid, warm-toned essentialism of the Arizona landscape. The human element injects the interiors with sensual hedonism amidst the barren desert — an oasis of cozy comfort that merges with the severe scenery.
