 THE KITCHEN OF THE #restaurant ‘RIGOLO’ OPENS ITS DOORS TO THE WORLD OF #design DURING #milanodesignweek WITH THE PROJECT ‘WE R FOOD’ - A PLATFORM WHICH CONNECTS FOOD AND #design. The historical #restaurant ‘Rigolo’, situated in Brera, the pulsing heart of international creativity, is entrusting part of its menu and #restaurant space to the creative platform We R Food. The project We R Food for Rigolo was created from the fusion of traditional Italian cuisine with the world of #design: four Italian designers have been called to create the plate #design of the food proposed by the #chef of the #restaurant specifically for this occasion. A studio normally working on set #design will prepare the tables. The theme will be to reconcile the menu with the presentation of the plates from a pure stylistic point of view. The four different proposals from the designers will be evaluated and interpreted like a real #design exhibition. The expected outcome will be to reestablish the value and essence of each recipe, providing an aesthetical view on food, without modifying the contents, yet changing the style. It will be a complete process that will identify the perfect balance between decoration and #design. It will be the same with the tables: a horizontal installation which will be superimposed on the classic furnishings of the #restaurant, rather like a pop up, temporarily settling on the tables and assuming the function of table runners and place mats. Vito Nesta, Martinelli Venezia, Elena Salmistraro and Zanellato Bortotto are the designers which will be taking part in this incredible project of designing the plates and Studio MiLo will take care of the graphics and coordination of the tables, the menus and the windows.
