The Salone.Milano has been the perfect time to realize this unusual “exibithion” at the Bertolotto Milano
showroom. The ground floor has been completely ”redressed” with the funny and colorful works of the Brazilian artist on 12 brand new doors model and o n the walls. On April 5 th more than 400 people attended the BrittoLovesBertolotto cocktail party to celebrate the new collaboration and the 2 nd anniversary from the opening of Bertolotto #milano f lagship s tore. Flowers, Herts, Bears and other POP composit ions, all of them with gaudy and energetic colors, have a prominent role in the 12 models that are part of the BrittoLovesBertolotto collection. The signature #design by Britto has been brought on the swing doors, flush doors and sliding doors. R OMERO BRITTO was born in Recife, Brazil in 1963. Self - taught at an early age, he painted on newspapers, cardboard or any scrap of paper he could find to serve as his canvas. In 1983, he traveled to Paris where he was introduced to the work of Matisse and Picasso. He combined influences from cubism with pop, to create a vibrant, iconic style that The New York Times describes, “exudes warmth, optimism and love.” Britto’s pop sensibility has since leant itself to many collaborations with such brands as Audi, Bentle y, Disney, Technomarine, Evian and FIFA, for whom he created an official poster for the 2010 World Cup. He has also illustrated several books published by Simon & Schuster and Rizzoli. Is an artistic activist for charitable organizations worldwide and mo st of all an artist who believes “art is too important not to share.” He acts as a benefactor, donating time, art and resources to over 250 organizations and serves on several boards such as Best Buddies International and St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hos pital. In early 2011 the President of Brazil, Dilma Rousseff, invited Britto to create the logo for Rede Cegonha, a project to reach over 61 million pre and post - natal mothers and babies. In 2015 Romero Britto was named ambassador for 2016 Olympics in Bra zil. Romero Britto is committed to developing and supporting the powerful role art will continue to play in world issues
