Pedrali at IMM 2018, blending style and elegance

The Italian firm is exhibiting at the 54th edition of the international #interiordesign fair in Cologne

Mornico al Serio, January 2018 – #pedrali, the Italian firm which manufactures contemporary designer furnishings for public spaces, offices and homes, is taking part in this year’s IMM, the first international trade fair of the year for #interiordesign, to be held in Cologne from 15-21 January 2018. The #pedrali stand was designed by the Calvi Brambilla studio in Milan: it is sure to wow visitors with its original settings and decorative features inspired by the atmospheres of 1950s home interiors.

Pedrali’s stand is situated inside Pure Editions (Pavilion 2.2. Stand H-006), the section dedicated to premium international #design brands; it consists of a central area in which the main colour theme is teal, with tone-on-tone furnishings. Arranged around this area are five alcoves with settings that evoke the American experimental architecture of the Case Study Houses, and typically Fifties modernist elegance.

The space is imbued with a sense of transparency and lightness, and its living and dining areas flow into each other thanks to the partitions, which simulate large floor-to-ceiling windows, alternated with masonry walls, guiding visitors as they discover the #pedrali collections. The exhibition #design highlights the versatility of Pedrali’s furnishing solutions, which have the potential to make life easier for people as they inhabit and move around the living spaces of a home, making its interiors truly special.

The latest version of FOX, the elegant and distinctive-looking chair designed by Patrick Norguet, now with leather upholstery, is one of the latest products which #pedrali is presenting at IMM 2018. Other stand-out pieces among those on display include the Nym chairs, made from wood finished water-based paint, which offer a contemporary take on traditional English Windsor chairs. The alcoves also showcase the Babila collection, which stylishly treads the line between tradition and innovation, and the elegant upholstered armchair Vic. The living room corner features the contemporary #design of Reva, softly lit by the wireless lamp, Giravolta.

Giravolta also takes centre stage in the theatrical set piece Magnetic Wireless Hero, designed by the Calvi Brambilla studio as part of the Featured Editions format organized by Stylepark. It offers a “light” take on the medieval tale of St. George and the dragon, with the cables and sockets attempting to “attack” Giravolta which, like the hero battling the monster, crushes its foe while continuing to emit light wirelessly.

Bio water-based paints: an innovative development for Pedrali

Pedrali has always been committed to environmental sustainability throughout every stage of the manufacturing process. Now, for the IMM, #pedrali will announce that it only uses water-based paints composed mainly of plant-derived resins; these paints combine quality with care for the environment. Formulated with 40% raw materials sourced from “waste” plant substances, these paints offer durability, chemical- and light-resistance, and industrial usability comparable to classic petroleum-based products, but with a drastic reduction of the fossil-derived component. This allows high-quality products to be manufactured, totally in line with the most advanced “green policies”. The result? A healthier and less hazardous working environment, given that these paints are non-flammable; less air pollution, and vast energy savings, leading to a reduction in CO2 emissions. The use of bio water-based paints represents yet another leap forward for the company towards environmental sustainability, enabling #pedrali to pursue a path in obtaining important international certifications, and to consistently apply these principles, which are a fundamental part of the Made in #pedrali ethos, to every step in the production process of its collection, consisting of chairs, tables, lamps and interior accessories.
