Unopiù: 40 years of history and innovation

The story of #unopiù begins in 1978 and springs from the will to create a complete range of furnishing options for outdoor areas, as if they were an integral part of the home, dedicating the same attention, care and refinement to them. The company’s initial success owes much to direct sales to the customer, by correspondence through a catalogue. This was a unique inititiative for the furnishing sector at the time. Very soon the catalogue became a “magazine” to collect and leaf through, in search of creative pointers and ideas to furnish one’s home. Subsequently the change in purchasing trends was quickly understood, so a sales network of monobrand shops and retailers in both Italy and abroad was introduced, which in time included online sales through e-commerce as well as a site available in five languages. One of Unopiù’s greatest strong points is the vastness of the range for outdoor furnishings. The collections maintain the artisanal style, yet constantly respond to evolving trends with innovations in form and materials. Thanks to the most advanced technology, to the careful selection of raw materials and to excellent craftsmanship, our products are destined to last, resisting even the most extreme weather conditions. Since the launch in 1988 of Unopiù’s symbol par excellence, the Amanda hammock, the growth of the brand has never looked back. In 2006 the switch to contemporary themes revolutionized the style, with collections more oriented towards #design. Important collaboration with prestigious architectural and successful #design studios, who work together with internal professionals, was also introduced. The company has designed, produced and distributed new icons: the classic Solaire pergola, the Les Arcs sofa, the Treble sofa structure and Shibuya, the first pergola in the world on wheels. In 2016 research was concentrated on seating arrangements, creating products like Cosette, Panarea, Sunstripe and Tweed which in 2017 won the much sought after ADI* “Eccellenze del design” prize. We must also mention the wide range of #unopiù outdoor cushionware, with various weights and finishes, offering infinite esthetic options to make your home a more personal, exclusive and welcoming place. The 2018 the catalogue, with exciting new graphics, continues to represent the essence of the brand and bears witness to 40 years of history and Made in Italy innovation.
