Natural aesthetics and design for the new 2018 Alpi wood collections and for the launch of ALPI-On, the first collection of finished panels

For ALPI the exploration of the beauty of wood and its forms continues this year, with the presentation of the new collections of wood surfaces that set new aesthetic standards, given concrete form in material and cultural quality and the company’s unique approach to #design thinking.

Based on constructive and harmonious interaction with nature, the new ALPI collections explore the natural environment, expanding beyond the identity of wood to widen the aesthetic range and to suggest new conceptual dimensions, a synthesis of ongoing research on form and style.
Nature interpreted as a dimension that calls for listening and aesthetic contemplation, as the manifestation of a system of signs that can give rise to a game of fluid reflections, material contrasts and fascinating colors.
The novel models and patterns introduced by the new collaboration with the #design duo GamFratesi take their inspiration from ukiyo-e, the Japanese genre of woodblock prints, reflecting on the movement and interaction of the material to reproduce an instant of nature in the new woods Rain and Cloudy.
Alongside the creations of GamFratesi, once again this year the art director of the company, Piero Lissoni, proposes his own personal interpretation of the identity of wood with Velò, exploring the different structural variants of the material to create new aesthetic contents thanks to ALPI’s capacity to offer products that permit remarkable #design freedom.
This investigation of the properties of the material has also led to the new proposal Xilo 2.0 Walnut curated by Piero Lissoni, which reproduces the essence of Canaletto walnut, bringing out the unique character of this wood and its intrinsic characteristics through innovative, advanced technologies specially developed by the ALPI research and development team.
