Diesel Living 2018 — Out of this World


Under the vast skies of Mexico, #dieselliving visits concrete monuments of extraterrestrial geometries and a light-filled landscape of vivid color.

A metropolis built in the sandy wilderness, Mexico City sprawls impossibly across the terrain, with dryland plants creeping through the urban edges — signs of earthly life amidst Brutalist monoliths that seem to have landed on the planet from outer space above.

Diesel Living transforms this desert city into interiors of rough concrete, cold steel and perspective-altering mirrors, where leather looks like cement and glass looks like iron — a hardness offset by flashes of yellows, pinks, and blues, by printed velvets and fabrics, and by the desaturated look of overdyed wood. Inside and outside worlds flow into each other through sculptural windows in the concrete, a profusion of tropical fronds on either side.
