Platform Network interviewed Laura Fiaschi during Marmomac 2023: the contamination of marble with other materials, the most important characteristics of the natural material and its advantages for the designer product

01. THE NEW COMMUNICATOR AWARD 2023 / Marmomac _ Winner

Original and welcoming exhibition spaces able to tell the story of the company and its product, innovative displays that enhance the marble, natural stone and all the product categories present at the 57th edition of Marmomac, the most important international event in the global stone supply chain. 

During a ceremony at The Plus Theatre, the awards were awarded by an international jury chaired by Aurelio Chinellato, architect and IUSVE teacher in the Communication department, Guilherme Amorozo, Editor In Chief of Casa Vogue Brasil, Craig Copeland, architect and designer of the Pelli Clarke & Partners studio in New York, Simona Finessi, founder of Platform Network and Andrea Mancuso, founder and designer of Analogia Project, who viewed the different pavilions and announced the winners.

For the Design Italia category, the prize was awarded to the gumdesign project for the Savema company with the following motivation: "The setup is a simple and perfect celebration of the product: the principle is based on the study of a replicable metallic load-bearing structure and modular, which allows compositions of marble and other materials to be displayed without repeating themselves, creating overlaps. The possibility of physically crossing the elements involves the visitor in an experiential moment. The approach has a theatrical nature, playing on the wings and on the chiaroscuro generated by a skilful use of lights. The whole creates coherence between the design and the element presented, enhancing the variable point of view".
