Lapitec at the Fuorisalone with NEUTRO, an urban project by Michele Perlini and Dario Biello

The installation, located in piazza Cordusio, is an urban project by architects Michele Perlini and Dario Biello. A blend of rest area and green homage, it's designed for citizen well-being.

Lapitec, a 100% natural surface, returns to the Fuorisalone thanks to a project by architects Michele Perlini and Dario Biello, proposing a virtuous narrative to bring design in service of people and the environment.

The NEUTRO manifesto takes shape precisely from this desire for rediscovery and promotes the relationship between humans and nature through the dissemination of biophilic architecture in both public and private spheres. The message translates physically into a pavilion, intended to be a freely accessible urban furnishing for the whole community, which will be exhibited and visitable in piazza Cordusio from April 16 to 21 during the design week. Created with the contribution of Lapitec for one of the walls, in color Bianco Assoluto with Vesuvio finish, NEUTRO is a 9-square-meter cell equipped with bike parking stalls, a bench for resting, and a comfortable outdoor armchair. A covering made with sunshade systems, from which hanging greenery descends, and permeable perimeter walls make it a shaded device where one can find relaxation or use it for work needs: the project is indeed conceived as an oasis with high aesthetic and functional content, to be scattered throughout metropolises to ensure better livability. It is also enhanced by the parallel installation of a modular micro-greenhouse, My Garden, planted with medicinal herbs and sprouts, symbolizing a new concept of widespread urban garden.

"If we talk about nature and architecture, our intervention is logical," declares Marcello Toncelli, the third generation at the helm of Lapitec. "Our material is resistant – thus perfect for urban use – but also 100% natural, ecological, and healthy. We support the manifesto as an expression of values strongly shared by us."

Following the Milan Design Week, NEUTRO will then continue its journey to Verona as the first Italian city to join the Biophilic Cities Network, an international network focused on increasing the connection between people and nature in cities.
