Porro at Salone Internazionale del Mobile 2014

For Porro, wood is a natural attitude, a long-time passion, and an elective affinity that will be consecrated at the Salone del Mobile 2014, both in the fair’s display and in the “Woodenland” installation curated by Piero Lissoni in Porro’s Via Durini 15 showroom. The brand, known throughout the world for the very high quality of its systems and collections, stands out for its innate capacity to select, manipulate and interpret wood, offering a particularly wide and detailed range of finishes.

The Italian company was the first one to introduce with success an expressive finishing such as mongoi, then adopted in a widespread manner by other entreprises, and goes on a continuous, constant path of study of the chromatic declinations of wood. The extralight stains and the rough texture of natural hemlock, evoking refined Nordic interiors, or the full and dark color of black stained hemlock that reveals its grain at a closer glance, are only some of the essences added over the years to the Porro sample collection.

A precious material palette, enriched this year with new proposals that are recuperated from tradition, like natural oak, cherry, domestic walnut, canaletto walnut, ash, as well as woods that have particular esthetic and technical qualities like heat treated hemlock, heat treated elm, heat treated tanne, heat treated oak, heat treated eucalyptus, teak and santos rosewood selected in order to achieve the spatial effect and evoke the feelings desired in each setting.

An incredible array to select from in which every person can find their favorite wood and use it on the systems and part of the collection as they like, to suggest a made-to-measure approach, a bespoke service, which allows the product to be tailored according to personal taste...
