International Packaging competition: The importance of Visual Impact

Two hundred entries from Argentina, Chile, Croatia, Greece, Italy and Spain will be assessed tomorrow by the highly-qualified Jury for the 19th Veronafiere International Packaging Competition chaired by Alberto Alessi. The award for creativity in marketing terms this year also welcomed spirits not made from grapes, liqueurs and extra virgin olive oil.

Tomorrow (19 March) sees the start of the 19th International Packaging Competition, the only international competition that rewards (since 1996) finished bottles for wines and spirits made from grapes, marcs, must or wine, and - the innovation this year - also gin, rum, whisky and other spirits not made from grapes, liqueurs and extra-virgin olive oil.

The Jury of experts will review bottles, corks &caps, capsules, labels, collars, secondary labels, collars and seals for products entered in the Competition. Two hundred entries were received from Argentina, Chile, Croatia, Greece, Italy and Spain.
Compared to a total of 160 entries for the 2014 competition, the desire to open it up to other market segments highlights the international status of the event, which thereby becomes an authentic landmark for producers, the trade press and creative agencies. It also becomes an international platform for discussion in the world of graphics, design and packaging in general and not only for wine.
The choice of renowned experts has assured an authoritative status for the competition over the years. This year's jury comprises: Alberto Alessi (President, Alessi SpA), Alberto Gozzi (art-director), Luca Fois (designer), Giuseppe Martelli (oenologist), Annibale Toffolo (journalist). Alessi - whose company is one of the highest expressions of Italian design worldwide, is Chairman once again this year.
