23 metres long and with a luxury interior atmosphere, made one of a kind by a style mix of classic and the contemporary, the My Selena yacht certainly catches the eye. She contains fabulous acres of wood, mixed with steel, leather and HI-MACS® details: MY Selena is the new yacht designed by Van der Valk – Continental Yachts which has just spent its first summer on the Adriatic Sea.
The interior space, fully tailored and organized to meet all the requirements of customers, is split into two levels: the steering section comprising a lounge with dining room, kitchen, storeroom and control room, and the lower deck, with four cabins for guests all with respective private amenities. On the outside, next to the second helm, is a lounge area on the flying bridge, with a large Lshaped sofa and a living zone on the bow.
From the artificial lighting, which creates dramatic effects on the surfaces, to the leather upholstery with visible stitching and the bathroom mosaics, all with personalized colours, everything in the MY Selena is perfect right down to the smallest detail, with high regard for neatness, cleanliness, luxury and wellness. To give the interiors a more modern look and create an unusual colour contrast, the designers decided to mix the environment, using dark brown walnut containing grey and black grains, with contemporary details in steel and acrylic stone. HI-MACS®, used predominantly in the bathrooms and kitchen, proved vital in this sense: the New generation acrylic stone is in fact rich in those characteristics which helped make the project a success, not only in terms of aesthetics by also function.
Thermoformable, #himacs ® can potentially take on any shape at all, while its surface, which once treated no longer shows any sign of joints, prevents any dirt from taking hold because it is totally impervious. HI-MACS® therefore made it possible not only to create bathrooms in a number of different colours (using four different shades of the bright and original Lucent collection), but also to give the impression that all the interiors are one continuous piece of material. The best example shown by the washbasins, perfectly integrated into the vanity top.
