PIECHA: AMG GT-RSR convinces at the Essen Motor Show in Germany

When entering the VDAT Hall (11), #tuning fans visiting the Essen Motor Show in #germany between 26 November to 4 December were in for a surprise when, right at the main entrance, at Booth D110, they saw the 612 hp (450 kW) #piecha #amggtrsr, a real show stopper and attraction. And Marcus #piecha, both the company’s boss and chief designer, was there in person, talking to them.

This expert, with almost 35 #tuning years under his belt, explained the #design and technology’s details and the complex legal approval process. After all, the bright blue super sports car has a top speed of 330 kph and gets from naught to 100 kph in 3.7 seconds. But just as much as its huge power do its new and unusual looks fascinate all those who see it.

The production front apron, for example, got “Air Wings“ and a three-part front spoiler made of carbon. The rear apron got a completely new #design, with perfectly integrated air ducts, a new 4-pipe exhaust #design and a completely closed underfloor panelling with a mighty, ultralight carbon diffusor with perfectly integrated reversing lights. An even bigger engineering feat is the aerodynamically highly effective rigid carbon rear wing, stretched over almost the entire rear. The challenge here was to keep the retractable production brake rear spoiler functional, which Marcus #piecha and his team successfully did.

PIECHA also infected visitors with spring fever and presented the first of its new generation of Flow-Forming alloy wheels. And owners of a Jaguar F–Type could see an excellent high-end 4-pipe exhaust. Some also got information on PIECHA’s 2017 projects. Plenty of things to look forward to.
