“SWEDEN plays!”, the playful creativity of Swedish design 
at the International Furniture Fair SALONE DEL MOBILE Milan

The Swedish talent has never been more 'playful' and is now being presented at the Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan, with a group exhibition of 16 selected companies active in #design and #design accessories. The project, an expression of the typical Swedish sensitivity for nature and sustainability, is curated by the renowned architecture studio Tengbom, in special collaboration with the Swedish Embassy.
Natural materials - wood, textile fibers, glass and native metals – are interpreted by experimental #design and framed by the evocative colours of the Swedish landscapes, giving life to the protagonists of the new collections in "SWEDEN plays!". The collective exhibition Swedish #design Goes Milan 2016 is an initiative by Business Sweden, the Swedish Trade and Invest Council, in collaboration with the Swedish Embassy, Svensk Form, Swedish Architects and #visitsweden.
The spirit of the project is embedded in the very name of this year’s edition "SWEDEN plays!" that transmits energy, creative passion and typical Swedish informal style. It summarizes the essence of the new collections presented in preview at the #salonedelmobile 2016, a highlight of the international architecture and #design events.
Under the direction of Tengbom – one of the leading architecture firms in Scandinavia, recently ranked the fourth most innovative architecture firm in the world 2016 by the prestigious American magazine Fast Company "for the development of the future architecture in real time". The project enlightens a variety of experimental matrix furniture: sofas, armchairs, chairs, carpets and lighting solutions for primarily public environments, but also home.
Among the exhibitors you will find: A2 Designers, Ateljé Lyktan, Bsweden, By Rydéns, David #design, Fibers & Friends, Fogia, House of Dagmar, JI Jonas Ihreborn, Johanson #design, Nola, No-Sir, NTK, Ogeborg, Pholc, TreCe.
At 5 pm on the 12th and 13th, the Swedish Association of Architects and Svensk Form organize "Tree talks": moments for creative conversations in the company of renowned architects and designers on the theme of wooden architecture and #design, but not only, from small scale to large scale.
