Desalto - Best of Salone del Mobile 2016
The new #desalto proposals for 2016 edition of the Milan International Furniture Fair are oriented both for home and contract world, thus confi rming the growing attention that the company directs to both markets.One of the stars of this year’s show is the IKE collection which stems from an all-oriental inspiration: Ike, in fact, stands for Ikebana.
Fascinated by the ancient art of the Japanese masters, the designer Victor Vasilev has created a stool which reintroduces an interesting contrast—typical of this technique—between the luxuriant freedom of nature and the essential and rigourous forms in which it is contained.
The support of the Ike stool is a steel plate topped by a simple and rational base, from which round section profi les lead off to support the seat, like creepers. The idea of the stool has then been used in the form of a table and chair, maintaining the clean and understated lines of the initial project.
Spotlights also on two new versions of CLAY, the table-sculpture with a pure and refi ned elegance presented at the Salone 2015 and already a multi-award winner just a year from birth: Iconic #design Award 2015, Good #design Award 2016 and the Red Dot Award in the #product #design category 2016.
Clay is presented now again to the public in the new oval version which diff ers from the original model in the elliptical shape of the top and base, and as MINI CLAY, low version of the table in three sizes and heights, available in diff erent colours and fi nishings.
The ICARO 015 family expands with a console and a mirror that reproduce the rounded and rigorous line of the table, as well as KOKI chairs, elegant fusion between technology and #design, now also presented in the stool version.New look also for the table 25, Compasso d’Oro 2014, whose essential and avant-garde line, combined with the texture of hand spreaded concrete and new wooden essence of the top, creates a very refi ned contrast.
