Tato pays homage to three forefathers of Italian Design

As a continuation of an accurate and careful research carried out in the archives of architects and designers who have made Italian #design great, this year Tato is presenting some re-editions of works signed by three illustrious members of the “Milanese school”: Gio Ponti, Ignazio Gardella and Corrado Corradi Dell’Acqua.

The admirable intuitions of architects and designers dedicated to the cause of rationalism gave life to the phenomenon of Italian #design, which has spread all over the world today.

A story that started in Milan around the middle of the last century, thanks to a process of architectural renewal promoted by eminent masters of the discipline. It generated its first, valuable furnishing expressions in a lively entrepreneurial context fuelled by the enthusiasm of outstanding craftsmen and ebony carpenters.

The so-called “Milanese school” thus represented the avant-garde of a movement which, in its manifold declinations, later contributed to generating the Italian furniture industry as we know it today. Within the framework of its cultured and sophisticated research and experimentation, which is dedicated to the production of lamps, furniture, and accessories, some years ago the brand launched a fascinating and accurate operation of philological re-edition of iconic #design pieces signed by the most eminent members of the Italian #design scene. This is combined with a constant quest for new expressive possibilities that arise from the encounter with select contemporary designers (just to name a few: Antonia Astori and Lorenza Bozzoli).
