SEELA design Antti Kotilainen

A female name for the new stacking chair designed by the Finnish designer #anttikotilainen for #lapalma. Born from a precise brief of the company asking for a versatile product and a competitive price for the contract market, #seela, with a polypropylene shell, is different for a detail that makes it unique. The unexpected “plus”is given by a wooden insert with rounded profiles, seamlessly following the seat, and giving the touch of a warm natural material.

Definitely an eclectic proposal, aiming to a perfect blend of ergonomic and aesthetics: #seela provides a wide range of customization.

The seat-insert, which can be easily switched, is also available in polypropylene, to mix match colours and for outdoor use. The same insert can be used for the upholstered pad in fabric. The chair can be fully upholstered too, and again, the seat insert can be in a different material.

Its high versatility make it possible not only to configure the chair exactly as needed by the end-user, but also to easily change some details during its use, thus expanding its lifespan and helping the environment by producing less waste.

SEELA is available with several different bases: elegant wooden legs, with or without armrest. Or with four metal legs or sled base which can also be linked.

This range includes also a stacking stool in two heights, extremely comfortable thanks to its generous seat and high backrest

The match of two extremely different materials, polypropylene and wood, a characteristic of #seela, explains the dna of a company which has stood out over the years for using noble materials and the research of new proposals, a perfect blend of artisan skill and technology
