A selection of Knoll furnishings have been included in the project for the Restaurant Torre of Fondazione Prada complex designed by Rem Koolhaas with Chris van Duijn and Federico Pompignoli of the studio OMA

Seating by #knoll has been included in the project for theRestaurant Torre located on the sixth and seventh floors of the new building that completes the facility of #fondazioneprada in Milan, designed by #remkoolhaas with #chrisvanduijn and #federicopompignoli of the studio OMA.

The restaurant, as Koolhaas describes it, is “a collage of pre-existing themes and elements” that brings together works of art and #design. The Conference Chairs designed by Eero Saarinen for #knoll in 1954, here in the version with chrome-plated legs and without armrests, are still a timely presence and take the stage on the first two levels of the three that form the space, alternating with the Brno Chairs created in 1930 for the now legendary Villa Tugendhat in Brno, Czech Republic, embodying the essential #design approach of Mies van der Rohe. A 20th-century icon, the chair famous for its profile, its clean lines and painstaking craftsmanship has a chrome-plated flat structure, without armrests.

The upper level features the original furnishings of the Four Seasons Restaurant in New York designed by Philip Johnson in 1958; in particular, the stool created as an exclusive by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe for #knoll offers a unique illustration of Mies’s concept of #design, with its meticulously clean, linear form.

The bar area contains several settings made with tables from the collection designed by Eero Saarinen in 1957, reflecting the architect’s aim of combining essentially succinct lines with solutions of great visual impact.
