The #gandiablasco International Contest this year features DIABLA, the new #gandiablasco brand of outdoor furniture, accessories and decorative objects. DIABLA is liberated, passionate and colourful. The challenge is to #design an element for enjoying the outdoors.
It can be a piece of furniture, a decorative object, a lamp … you decide. So don’t miss out, send us your ideas! The contest jury this year will include professionals drawn from the world of #design and culture: José A. GandíaBlasco Canales, president and creative director of Gandia Blasco S.A.; Ana Domínguez Siemens, #design curator, art historian and journalist; José Luis Clemente, lecturer at the Valencia Polytechnic University (UPV), historian and art critic; Juan Vidal, fashion designer; and Barozzi Veiga, architects. The contest is directed towards students and young #design professionals from across the world between the ages of 18 and 35. The aim is to “support the ideas of young designers” in the words of president of Gandia Blasco S.A., José A.
Gandía-Blasco. Recent editions of the contest have seen the emergence of talented prize winners such as Kensaku Oshiro, who later went on to #design for other brands under the group. Prizes will be awarded at the Salone del Mobile 2019 in Milan, with 2,000 Eur. for first place and 1,000 Eur. for the runner up.
