Max, the collection of chairs designed by Christoph Jenni for Maxdesign, offers new colors and materials

Previewing at Salone del Mobile 2019, #maxdesign introduces new sustainable materials, developed by the company’s own R&D department, in two color palettes: Solid (in recycled PPL) and Blend (recycled PPL + wood).

Treviso, 9/14 April 2019 – At the new edition of Salone del Mobile, Maxdesign, the Italian brand specialized in the home&contract furnishing sector, has some important news about Max, the multifaceted and versatile seating collection by designer Christoph Jenni, in which there is growing interest.

This is certainly due to the company’s ability to map the path of its products and predict possible future uses, with the idea that they will remain useful over time, taking on new shapes from the perspective of a circular lifecycle.

The Max collection, which includes chairs and armchairs, is designed as a flexible, open “program” that responds to the demand for versatility, comfort, and sustainability. The relationships between elements, materials, and upholstery result in a "mix and match" attitude: a system of combinations that promotes identity and collaboration in a multitude of contexts.

At Salone 2019, #maxdesign presents the “new Max concept” for which it has established a new production line for producing sustainable materials, developed by the company’s in-house R&D department: RE-PPL made with recycled and reinforced polypropylene; RE-WOOD produced with RE-PPL and granules of recycled wood.

For #maxdesign, complete production chain monitoring is fundamental and the foundation for properly developing the potential of recycled materials. There are some important steps in this process that ensure the production of quality raw materials, such as drying and dehumidification in a controlled atmosphere through which the granulated raw materials are stabilized, as well as the fusing of the mixture, with different amounts of ingredients used depending on whether they are only plastic or a blend of plastic and wood.

It is this exact moment that makes it possible to form the specific material with which the products will then be made, using injection-molding technology, which determines the shape of a given #design.

A fundamentally important aspect is ensuring aesthetic quality, in this way the product can consistently express its personality and communicate a positive sensory perception through the material with which it was made.

In terms of the new color palettes, the company’s goal was to combine the characteristics of the materials with the character of the collection through two color ranges: Solid (RE-PPL) and Blend (RE–PPL+WOOD), in line with the aesthetic and emotional requirements of contemporary #interiordesign.
