Pedrali celebrates the anniversary of its lighting collection - A lighting partnership started ten years ago

Floor, suspension or table lamps, lights are essential elements in domestic environments and in contract projects, both for indoor and outdoor use, and they are able to define spaces contributing to complete the surrounding atmosphere. This year Pedrali is celebrating a special anniversary: ten years of its lighting collection. On the occasion of the 30th edition of Euroluce at the Salone del Mobile.Milano 2019, the Italian company showcased two new products which confirm the “lighting” #partnership with designers #basagliarotanodari.

Among the novelties of 2019, Tamara is a suspension light that takes inspiration from the shape of the headlights of early twentieth-century automobiles, paying homage to Tamara de Lempicka, modernist painter, icon of elegance and charm. Made from aluminium powder coated, Tamara stands out for its soft form, in which fleeting, rounded yet angular lines combine to make a versatile product. The light produced provides direct illumination of the surface beneath; however, an opening in the upper section of the shade and the convex profile of the closer in opaline polycarbonate allows a delicate band of light to shine onto the ceiling.

TO.BE is a suspension light, ironically named to reflect its shape - a tube suspended in the air. An essential lamp, with a narrow cylinder in polycarbonate, white powder coated inside, available in a wide palette of colours outside, with a hole in the upper part of the diffuser that allows light to shine out and illuminate the ceiling.

A special anniversary
It was 2009 when L001 was designed, Pedrali’s first indoor lamp by #basagliarotanodari: with its pure lines, it creates an ethereal mood thanks to its diffuser, which is translucent like glass but possesses all the advantages of moulded polycarbonate. Over the years, the successful collaboration between the Italian brand and the two designers resulted in the L002 collection, characterised by soft, fluid shapes and its evolution L004.

By contrast, Time Out and Happy Apple were designed to light gardens and patios. The first one is a floor lamp with an archetypical #design, particularly suitable for valorising contemporary or classic environments. The second one, with its multipurpose and versatile #design, can be a suspension lamp, a floor lamp or an applique.

The family is completed by two now-iconic lamps: Colette, presented in 2013, a table lamp in polycarbonate that stands out for its sculptural shapes and the colour, and Giravolta, from 2017, an outdoor wireless lamp with a contemporary #design. It is easy to carry and its swivelling diffuser allows to direct the light 360 degrees. Inspired by the lanterns of times past, Giravolta is able to create a magical atmosphere.

TAMARA

Design Basaglia Rota Nodari
To celebrate the tenth anniversary of its lighting collection, coinciding with the thirtieth edition of Euroluce, #pedrali presents Tamara, a lamp that successfully blends style and elegance. This new suspension light takes inspiration from the shape of the headlights of early twentieth-century automobiles, paying homage to Tamara de Lempicka, modernist painter, icon of elegance and charm, who in her famous self-portrait is behind the wheel of a green Bugatti. Made from aluminium powder coated in various colours, Tamara stands out for its soft form, in which fleeting, rounded yet angular lines combine to make a versatile product. The light produced provides direct illumination of the surface beneath; however, an opening in the upper section of the shade, and the convex profile of the closer in opaline polycarbonate, allows a delicate band of light to shine onto the ceiling.
Tamara offers interesting compositions for geometric effects that give a unique look to any room.
Materials: aluminium diffuser Ø180 mm; opaline polycarbonate closer.
Finishes: powder coated aluminium with matte paint in various colours, or in satin brass or satin copper finishes; cable and ceiling rose available in black or white.

TO.BE

Design Basaglia Rota Nodari
TO.BE is a suspension light, ironically named to reflect its shape - a tube suspended in the air. An essential lamp, with a narrow cylinder in polycarbonate, white powder coated inside, available in a wide palette of colors outside, with a hole in the upper part of the diffuser that allows light to shine out and illuminate the ceiling.
Materials: polycarbonate diffuser Ø 100 mm or Ø 170 mm.
Finishes: black soft-touch, corten or pink brass powder coating; matt black or white fitting and cable.

GIRAVOLTA

Design Basaglia Rota Nodari
Inspired by lanterns of times past, it is a wireless lighting distinguished by a contemporary #design and suitable for outdoor environments. The name reflects its essence: the swiveling diffuser and the rechargeable feature recalls the great inventor Alessandro Volta and his main discovery, the battery.
The main elements of the lighting are two discs in plastic material, the base and the LED diffuser which rotates 360 degrees and direct the light. An arc made in extruded aluminium painted in matching colours surrounds the two discs to create a practical handle
The luminaire incorporates the LED board, the lithium battery, the micro USB device for recharge and the power button. A magnet in the base as optional allows the fixing of the lighting on metal surfaces, even wall. Available in three heights: 330mm, 500mm and 1300mm.
Materials: injection moulded plastic material discs; white polycarbonate diffuser; extruded aluminium arc. Colours: white, black, beige, orange, sage green, pink.
