Target Group presents a preview of their "Hand Painted" collection at Cersaie 2019

Five lines, with a strong independent and distinctive personality: Villa Pompei, Ritratto, Trees, Opera and Leila.

Fiorano Modenese (MO), September 2019 - Target Group presents the new Hand Painted collection at Cersaie 2019, composed by 5 splendid lines. Although united by the craftsmanship and artistic value that is typical of hand- decorated ceramics, these lines are totally different from one another, maintaining a strong independence and personality. Even the individual panels of each line are different from each other: the manual technique, in fact, allows for extreme customisation, which best expresses the potential of these plates. The process to make them is the result of great skill and expertise, which allows customers and designers to express their imagination in designs that are original and, in some cases (such as the Ritratto line) also bespoke.

The Hand Painted Collection by Target Group includes:

VILLA POMPEI LINE. This is inspired by the famous Italian archaeological site and features 6 porcelain tile panels measuring 1x3 metres: 2 architectural panels, showing portions and details of monumental settings, 2 figurative ones, with female figures and friezes, and 2 floral ones, with delicate natural details. All are vertical and made up of two parts, one upper and one lower, and they have an extraordinary effect of contrasting subjects and colours. To create them, we start by working manually on the base, with a spatula technique, to recreate the time-worn wall on which we then intervene digitally for the different graphics. A pleasure to the eye and to the touch.

RITRATTO LINE. What makes this line special is the idea from which it originated, that is, to portray the uniqueness of human faces on a large surface (2x3 metres). Starting from a photograph, the Target Group artists recreate the image using mixed decorating techniques, starting with a digital drawing that acts as an outline, on which they work freehand, sometimes in several colours with a specific dominant shade. Panels which, divided into two vertical portions, can also be placed staggered, to offer creative effects of perspective.

TREES LINE. Veining is skilfully blended to look like tree trunks. An idea that comes from fusing together two types of enamel. A branched effect of undefined lines, which gives life to a surreal woodland, enriched with metal added using a spatula technique, to recall the sun shining through foliage.

OPERA LINE. It looks like marble, but it isn’t. This line plays on the imitation of this precious stone, recreated by hand with great skill. It arises from the need to break away from digital patterns, to reproduce marble in a realistic way through the expert use of reactive and metallic granules, cast on a watercolor enamel. The result is surprising: veins and swirls that are identical to the original. In 4 shades: light blue, white, black and green.

LEILA LINE. A journey through the beauty of colours and shapes to find inspiration. A line made up of slabs embellished with colourful geometric tiles, whose borders are in relief. The effect is a very tactile surface, with tone-on-tone colours that recall stone. Thicknesses and dripping made with a spatula provide the consistency that makes up the base of the slab, embellished with sponging of gilded metal with bronze reflections and watercolor stains that blend with the base metal. 2-piece panels in 2 versions, beige and grey.
