K-array, born for Rock projected with design - headquarters renovation -
K-array is a renowned manufacturer of innovative pro audio solutions with global headquarters in Tuscany. Founded in 1990, the company concentrates its efforts and resources in the revolutionary #design and manufacture of highly-efficient audio systems that produce unparalleled performance.
The #karray headquarters, in the heart of Mugello, have been the subject of intense renovation work, pursued strongly to elevate the space and make the real K-experience, a journey with a strong emotional impact, a memorable one for visitors.
The #karray headquarter overlooks a large park that runs alongside the River Sieve. The appearance of a real factory has been preserved and reinterpreted in a ’Tuscan key’, to combine the best in architectural #design and human artifice with
the natural aesthetics of the landscape.
The project involved renovating the façade, offices, conference rooms, showrooms and reception areas, as well as the canteen and the demonstration and training spaces. Gathering all the #karray departments under a single roof, in a space of around 4.000 mq that was originally broken up and used by other artisan companies.
The exterior is total black with a corten finish and marks the two main entrances. A canopy runs around part of the façade and a large staircase offers direct access to the reception area on the first floor.
There are lots of deep planters above ground with olive trees and rosemary bushes. The colour potential of corten is what led the designers to choose it: its colour is never the same, it has almost organic features and it naturally adapts to the colours of the landscape, making every project unique.
