The elegant Hyle restaurant chooses Lapitec in Nero Assoluto

From food plating, to service areas and furnishings: #lapitec sintered stone is the ideal material for haute cuisine.

While outside there are fir forests and the rugged reliefs of the Sila region, inside the landscape turns to a rarefied atmosphere, where the context is reinterpreted using linear geometry. The new temple devoted to the cuisine of chef #antoniobiafora in San Giovanni in Fiore, in the province of Cosenza in Calabria, reflects the surrounding territory through studied use of materials– which is precisely the inspiration for the name of the restaurant: Hyle. The term was coined by Aristotle to identify matter, and later transformed into the term “Sila”.

The “matter” in this case refers to the quest, on the part of the owner, for the best food products, but also to the concept behind the interiors of the restaurant, designed by architect #francescaarrighi and engineer #giuseppepiomazzei. The warmth of the wooden flooring and furniture marries with the detailing on the black #lapitec of the walls and the countertop of the pass which opens onto the dining room, as well as the large central counter.

Chosen in the Nero Assoluto shade in a polished finish, #lapitec thus becomes the medium that marks the passage between the area dedicated to guests, furnished with elegant round tables, and the area where the dishes take shape.

 Quality, technology, versatility

Lapitec does not absorb liquids, does not stain, and is ideal for contact with food, due to its composition and the absence of surface porosity. In addition, it does not scratch or scrape, can withstand high temperatures and is easy to clean.Specific processing of the sintered stone, by FDC Fuda Division Contract srl, has allowed the seamless integration of a built-in heating coil in the countertop, which keeps dishes at the correct temperature during the phases of plating up -when the chef composes the architecture of each plate in front of the clients.

The large counter set among the round tables also features #lapitec tops in the Nero Assoluto tone with a polished finish on two levels, as does the shelf supporting the sink in the service area.

Repeated across different zones, the #lapitec surfaces create a spatial rhythm within Hyle restaurant, the new gastronomic destination in Calabria officially inaugurated by the young chef on 10 January 2020.
