Poggesi shades the garden terrace of the DIOR Cafè in Miami

Poggesi designed the outdoor spaces of the Miami Dior pop-up café, located on the boutique’s third-floor garden terrace in Miami, in the heart of the Miami #design District.

Dior coffee continues the long lasting tradition and passion of the founder of the house Christian Dior for the art of entertainment and his very personal taste in art de vivre. Keeping with this spirit, the café offers a very pleasant convivial space entirely inspired by the Toile de Jouy theme, an iconic 18th century French print which, from 1947 adorned the walls of Monsieur Dior's first boutique at Avenue Montaigne in Paris, where it used to cover even the decorative pillows and was printed directly onto the terrace decking.

The brand’s emblematic Toile de Jouy print has been recently modernized by Artistic Director Maria Grazia Chiuri for the Cruise 2019 collection and embellished with the addition of wild animals such as giraffes, tigers and lions, popping with delicate accent colors of blush pink and navy blue. The café is a work of art in itself. The café is a work of art in itself: the pinnacle point of the space is a bronze Dior logo set against greenery and lit in the background, creating the perfect backdrop for any social media photo. Lush greenery enriches the cozy café with refined white seating and large umbrellas flanking the perimeter.

Thanks to its tailor-made, resistant and durable products, #poggesi has been able to fully satisfy the needs of the Doo Architecture studio which designed the project. The Tuscan company supplied two different models of cantilever umbrellas, ONE and KING in customized extra catalogue sizes. The structures come with the same tone as the furnishings and cloths with different colours and decorations, according with the concept of the space. The result is a harmonious environment, in which all the elements are intertwined and strengthened. The furnishings, that reproduce silhouettes of wild animals that as oversized 3D sculptures "roam" the space, the rich vegetation surrounding the cafe and the suggestive skyline whose view can be enjoyed from the terrace, introduce guests into a magical realm.

Cantilever umbrellas KING e ONE Thanks to the patented lateral cantilever arm set inside the cloth, the side pole umbrellas designed by #poggesi offer an extraordinary combination of aesthetics and manoeuvrability, introducing the concept of comfort and refinement in the outdoor spaces and perfectly conforming to any surrounding environment. Versatile, multi-directional and easy to open, these parasols are protected by a position locking system, blending functionality and ease of use with an elegant #design. In fact in addition to adjust the arm and the cloth, One e King can rotate of 365° in order to offer as much comfort as possible from sunrise to sunset and are equipped the telescopic movement system allows the user not to remove the furniture set under the umbrella, during the opening and closing stage. The structure is totally made in Italy and realized with of stainless steel and aluminium, varnished with polyester-based thermosetting powders coats to ensure the highest durability and the highest personalization in colour. The cloth is entirely sewn with cotton thread inside the company headquarters to guarantee the highest resistance and it’s completely customizable in colours, decorations and layout. It’s even possible to add complete lighting system, LED.
