More functions for optimum simulation – New version for simulation software increases efficiency in product development

Siemens Digital Industries Software is expanding its Simcenter portfolio for simulation and test solutions with a new version of its Simcenter 3D software. This features optimizations in terms of multidisciplinary integration, CAE (Computer-aided Engineering) processes, testing and analysis functions as well as openness and scalability. These software improvements and expansions offer users an even deeper insight into product performance, enabling them to make their company more profitable and fit for the future. Simcenter 3D and the Simcenter portfolio are part of the Xcelerator product range, the integrated #siemens package comprising software, services and an application development platform.

With the new Simcenter 3D version, product development teams can work even more efficiently. The standardized user-friendly platform covers the majority of simulation disciplines and provides standardized results. For multidisciplinary integration, the new version offers additional, particularly realistic simulation methods. This includes, for example, functions for rotor dynamic simulation, which have been extended to include non-linear connection elements. With the new Noise Vibration and Harshness (NVH) tool, engineers can create finite element (FE) models quickly and easily at system level, which accelerates the CAE process and reduces error probability through the automation of the model.

Simplified simulation and modeling processSeamless integration into Simcenter data management has now been extended with even deeper testing and analysis correlation functions from Simcenter 3D. This includes the optimal determination of sensor positions before the test, which ensures that the simulations provide results that are as realistic as possible. The new version also promotes the existing openness of the Simcenter 3D environment, where engineers and designers can also work together using CAE solutions from third-party providers. The new support for cyclic symmetry helps engineers to simplify the modeling and simulation process for parts and components.
