The Antas Garden by Empatias

Nowadays you might know Porto by its small alleys, and the warm people smiling to you for no reason at all. Maybe you felt in love with the amazing food and wine or perhaps for the breathtaking sunsets near Rio Douro. The wonders of Porto would need more than a few words to be fair, but with so many that the tourist felt in love for those who already leave here, there is so much more! The passion for Futebol, for the History behind the railway lines, our typical boats 'Barcos Rebelos' that rests at the end of the day under the D Luis Bridge.

From the North Empatias team that was born in this nest of inspiration ''Antas Apartments'' was born. The ''Antas'' area is surrounded by the historic train station Campanhã. And being the railways such a strong inspiration in the area, it was the biggest influence for the creation of this apartment. Creating such an industrial open space as its perks but also some limitations, such as comfort and Sophistication.

To create some privacy in the room since it was an open space our team #design a metal and glass greenhouse with a curtain so that the sleeping space still remained intimate and private. Still in the bedroom, the bedside tables were made by half-burned logs one of the main materials used on Train stations and railways, as well as the concrete walls.

In the Living Room, the Terracota #sofa was designed with the shape of a corner to also create a break between leisure space and dining space, and the art on the walls is the main connection to the inspiration with photos of Antas industrial zone before modernization.

As for the Kitchen together with light wood slatted bedroom cabinets, #Empatias Team was able to harmonize the apartment and break the heavy feel of the industrial side of the apartment.
