World Design Organization launches call for proposals to host its 33rd World Design Assembly in 2023

Montreal (Canada), 25 February 2021 – The #worlddesignorganization (WDO)® today launched its bid process to identify a host for the World #design Assembly™ in 2023. WDO is seeking proposals from bidding organizations interested in bringing the international #design community to their city for one of WDO’s most convergent Events.

On a biennial basis, WDO’s general assembly convenes approximately 150 participants from more than 40 countries including representatives from its membership, leadership, other INGOs, and key industry stakeholders. It is a two-day decision-making #Event on matters related to the organization’s mandate, as well as on issues affecting the future of the industry. It is preceded by a one-day #design research and education forum that hosts both industry and academic keynote speakers, in parallel with presentation sessions in alignment with a selected theme.

As expressed by WDO President, Mr. #srinisrinivasan, “Through shared interests, experiences and resources, the World #design Assembly provides an important platform for WDO members to be heard as a powerful voice. Since its inception in 1957, the Assembly remains a significant #Event for the international #design community and our desire is to identify a host city that will enable us to work with organizations within the community that are also pursuing and showcasing #design as a critical sector with influence on social change.”

Interested parties may download the guide to the bid process online. The submission deadline for bids is 11 June 2021, with a public announcement of the location and host for the 33rd World #design Assembly to be made in October at the 32nd World #design Assembly in Shunde (China).
