Colours regain a key role in living spaces with Atelier and Brickworks Nuances, the two versatile new porcelain stoneware collections by Casalgrande Padana able to complement the vast range of cement, wood, marble, metal and stone-effect tiles. This brings a new colour renaissance to the home, shaped by smooth combinations and vibrant notes. Deep, silent or shrill, soft, fruity, spicy or sharp; pleasing tones ready to awaken the emotions.

Variations of colour, vibrant, sophisticated light effects and classy, contrasting tones spring to life on the porcelain stoneware tiles in the Atelier and Brickworks – Nuances collections. The rich, modern colour range of the former is composed of large monolith tiles in a thickness of just 6.5mm (ranging from 40x120 cm and 60x120 cm up to 120x120 cm and 120x278 cm) and comes in eight monochrome shades ranging from candid (Brume and Cristallo) to Provençal (Lavanda) and from fresh (Fiordaliso and Indaco) to warm (Rubino) and vivid (Oltremare).

The latter collection features brick-effect stoneware wall tiles in a single 8.2x25 cm format, and offers eight different colours (from the saturated shades of green and blue to the more neutral tones of black and white), available in two surface finishes that are opposites in terms of light reflection, with the satin version reflecting no light, in contrast to the bright polished version.

 A kaleidoscope of pastel colours in porcelain stoneware carefully selected to tile all kinds of walls, both indoors and outdoors, in both domestic and public spaces. With original colour combinations or elegant ton-sur-ton coverings, the porcelain stoneware tiles in the Atelier and Brickworks Nuances collections are perfect for large vertical, sloping or curved surfaces, for an entire wall, or just a portion of it. These tiles offer a perfect blend of beauty and function, in a simple colour palette of smooth shades ready to bring a lively touch to all kinds of settings, embellishing and adorning plain walls in public and commercial environments, or bringing some inviting, personal character to domestic living spaces.

Shades of blue express calm, harmony and serenity, transmitting a gratifying sensation of inner peace, making them suitable for settings that need to be cool and restful, such as the bedroom or bathroom areas. The endless shades of green, poised mid-way between warm and cool tones, are considered both relaxing and able to boost concentration and psychological balance, so they are ideal for both the bathroom and areas devoted to reading and study. White is a basic, modern colour that transmits a sensation of innocence, purity, simplicity and elegance, able to bring a light, bright touch to settings, along with a dash of sophisticated elegance. In contrast, warm, dynamic red, in its various tones, symbolises power and audacity, bringing energy and vigour to living spaces; this is why it is recommended for the living area.

The choice of colours and shades also determines the perception of the size and shape of a room, making it look bigger, wider, or higher.

Large or small tiles?

Just like fashion, interior #design evolves in cycles, so along with the large sizes, we’re also witnessing a return to tiles with a smaller format, especially for coverings.

A covering made of porcelain stoneware tiles in large formats can be used to create a wallpaper effect for walls and flush doors, or elegant support surfaces that create continuity with the walls. Thanks to the ‘rectification’ process (used to make the edges of the tiles perfectly squared) and to the new 120x278 cm format, a sense of visual continuity can be obtained by installing the large ceramic tiles in the Atelier collection tiles without cutting them, and with minimal, barely perceptible joints, while the large variety of colours available and the thickness of just 6.5 mm offer endless style options.

Because they can be laid with a horizontal, vertical, diagonal, mixed or herringbone pattern, the brick-effect coverings in the Brickworks Nuances collection, in the small 8.2x25 cm format, are perfect for embellishing a fireplace or a niche set into the wall, or for creating the backdrop for a bookcase. They also offer a creative solution for tiling bathroom and kitchen walls, or the external walls of a patio or a veranda, and are also ideal for creating a focal point on an outdoor wall of a swimming pool area.
