Métaphores participates in the First Edition of Genius Loci, exhibiting Côte Sauvage and a selection of fabrics inspired by the connections between handcrafting and art.

Métaphores, French #interiordesign firm belonging to the Hermès fabric production line, exhibits its textile works from 16 to 24 October 2021 within exhibition Genius Loci, curated by Marion Vignal in LAnge Volant, only #design inFrance by architect and designer Gio Ponti.

In a collective #show designed to bring out the authentic spirit of the place, Métaphores, through echoes and references to the building, addresses the challenge of living the rooms with its own creations, enhancing itsidentity in an aesthetic at the crossroads between art and architecture.

Among the protagonists of the Côte Sauvage exhibition, a new and #limitededition screen created in collaboration with Cuir au Carré, weaves the fabrics of the Éléments Terre collection with worked leather and horsehair, generating an iconographyinspired by coastal landscapes sculpted by the wind and sea.The colours of nature alternate between light blue andultramarine, from bright white to the sand and brown of the cliffs, with notes of pale pink.

The bedrooms are decorated with a fine selection of fabrics from the Métaphores collection, which encapsulate the heritage of themaison.

Ria is an embroidered velvet whose pattern embodies a multitude of images: articulated shapes of coral, like the poetic paintings of Japanese landscape. It takes its name from a rivervalley engulfed by the sea, which creates winding islands andcoves.

Pépite, embossed wool satin that, like a gold nugget, shines with the luxury of gold in a texture that derives its forms both from the mineral world and from a cloudy sky in which the rays of the sun cut through the air.

Talisman is inspired by the ancient art of cloisonné, a process ofnumerous steps of enamelling used to produce decorative objects. The dynamic pattern is punctuated by circles that recall set jewels, in which the metallic wires give luxurious sparkles that rise from a matte and pearlized background.

Jacquard Prisme evokes the rock crystal prisms of lunar landscapes through the repetition of a single element that givesdepth to the weave.

Métaphores establishes a deep dialogue with the surroundingenvironment, defining an equilibrium between the authenticity of the place and new studies of design

Exhibition Genius Loci combines with the desire of the maison to promote creativity through a series ofcollaborations with interior architects, set designers, designers and illustrators.
