Aria is Alegre Design’s new Sit and play office chair concept for Enova

Inspired by nature, the connection of two shapes - one rigid and one flexible - results in a light and versatile product, with no noticeable mechanisms

The shape gives its function to the chair, which is the first collaboration between the Spanish studio and one of the leading professional chair manufacturers

Valencia, April 1^st, 2022.- Aria is Alegre Design’s new office chair based on a Sit and play concept for furniture manufacturer Enova, a global leader in professional seating solutions. Inspired by nature, the connection of two shapes - one rigid and one flexible - results in a light and versatile product, with no noticeable mechanisms.

Less is more in the #design philosophy behind this piece which, through its lines and materials, creates an ergonomic and elegant structure. The overlapping of both silhouettes influences the smoothness of the curves and the visual lightness of the piece. It means the movement of the backrest and seat are in synch, ensuring the ergonomics and functionality of the chair throughout the working day.

“With Aria, its shape is what gives it its function. Our collaboration with Enova has shaken up office seating. Calling on our extensive experience in technology and furniture #design, the mechanism is built-in, leaving only the essence of the chair in view. It has no superfluous parts or pre-existing solutions”, explains Alegre Design’s head designer, #andresbaldovi.

Aria is the result of intensive research into materials and processes. To make this #design available to as many #people as possible, #alegredesign worked with thermoplastic materials that strike the right balance between stability and flexibility and, also, are environmentally friendly.

“Aria is defined by its lightness and its smart and intuitive concept.  Aria is characterized by how easy it is to use, based on a sit-and-play principle of apparent formal simplicity.
