DS x Métiers D’art 2 – DS Lumen: a jury stamped with excellence and eclecticism

  • • For the second DS x MÉTIERS D’ART #design competition, DS Automobiles is bringing together jurors from different backgrounds, characterised by the excellence of French savoir-faire.
  • DS x MÉTIERS D’ART seeks to find creative French craftspeople and highlight their
    expertise.
  • Christened DS LUMEN, this competition tackles the subject of light at the front of New DS 3 ETENSE.

In 2021, the team from DS Automobiles launched a #design competition for the best creative French craftspeople, in #partnership with the Studio Métiers Rares. From the first DS x MÉTIERS D’ART, seeking the innovative power of professional artists through a technical and aesthetic challenge enabled a deepening of the creative and innovative bond between DS Automobiles and these established or emerging professionals from the art scene. The jury nominated #annelopez as the inaugural winner. A graduate of the Beaux-Arts de Paris and the École d’Art Mural de Versailles, she
made the interior trim for an exclusive #ds9

The second edition of DS x MÉTIERS D’ART competition was launched in November 2022. Christened DS LUMEN, it aims to enhance the work of light effects through materials, with an application on the grille of New #ds3etense, a 100% electric model.

Ten entrants have already been chosen by an in-house committee. Their work will be reviewed by a jury made up of the DS Automobiles team and influential personalities in the fields of art and #design, form of expression of the Brand, who will choose three finalists. They will then be invited to #design a part for the grille of New #ds3etense. The jury will subsequently nominate the winner of the competition, who DS Automobiles will entrust with making trim for a New DS 3E-TENSE grille, as well as a grant for 5,000 euros.

The jury is made up of eight members, under the chairmanship of #hervelemoine, President of Mobilier national.

"Because today's creation is tomorrow's heritage, because this same contemporary creation draws an extraordinary source of inspiration from crafts, I am delighted to take part for the first time in the DS x MÉTIERS D’ART competition, a springboard for the talents of tomorrow, whose challenges are in line with the missions carried out by the Mobilier national. Much more than the Garde-Meuble de la France, the Mobilier national is first and foremost a lively place at thecrossroads of #design innovations.
