B&B Italia Outdoor Collection 2023

After the great success of Borea, Piero Lissoni and B&B Italia continue to pursue research and sustainability in the outdoor sector, creating Nooch, a modular seating system whose name is inspired by the tropical botanical garden of Nong Nooch in Thailand.

Its key feature is the tubular structure in recycled aluminum, a light and strong material, completely recyclable. A choice inspired by simplicity, which recalls elementary tubular structures and ennobles them with a #design that pays attention to every detail. The intersection of the structural elements represents the iconic feature of this collection, with the particular elbow curve achieved by the way the aluminum bends. This is a #design and engineering element that combines function and beauty, which is sure to be remembered for a long time to come.

Nooch is a system that offers the possibility of creating infinite combinations from two base modules: a rectangular one measuring 136x95 cm and a square one measuring 95x95 cm. Both can be equipped with backrests and armrests and have an aluminum top with slats on which the cushions rest.

The modules can be arranged as free-standing units or attached firmly together by means of special interlocking joints so as to create a variety of configurations.

This is possible due to a series of additional tables that can be inserted between the seats. With tops in serpentine stone or natural teak wood, with irregular slats, a choice that creates an unusual visual rhythm, they are available in square, rectangular and trapezoidal shapes. The latter creates gentle curves, becoming the key to varying the linearity of the composition of the elements, creating dynamic solutions. There is also a small round service element in natural teak wood that can be inserted between the cushions to provide additional support when needed.

The paddings are designed with sustainability in mind. They use regenerated materials, which are completely separable, and consist of two layers of polyurethane with different densities and firmness. The bottom layer of the seat cushion is made of polyurethane recycled from production waste, while the top layer is made of virgin bio-polyurethane. This is then wrapped in an outer sheath of recycled PET which provides additional comfort.

The textile collection offers polypropylene fabrics with a particularly natural hand and allows for a combination of solid colors, and small geometric patterned textures, where neutral tones blend with blue, green, dove gray and clay. These shades dialogue with the elegant and sophisticated range of the aluminum structures in forest green, Veronese red, avio blue and graphite, all finished with a high-quality semi-gloss coating.

The collection is enriched by a low table, with a square or rectangular base and a top in serpentine stone or enameled lava stone in clay, sage and ocean blue colors. To emphasize the linearity of the object, the frame is encased by tubular aluminum elements along its entire length, featuring semi-gloss varnish in the same colors as the seats.

In domestic or contract spaces, the countless combinations of Nooch can be easily modified, adapting to different seasons, needs and occasions: breakfast or dinner, relaxing or sharing, small gatherings or big parties, there is no situation that Nooch cannot handle.

The Allure O' table, a heartfelt tribute to glamour interpreted in contemporary style, is now presented in an outdoor version that keeps the graceful force of its #design, clearly visible in the shape of the top and the balance between straight lines and sinuous curves. Allure O' Outdoor is proposed with square and rectangular tops and in two heights. In addition to the usual top height of 72 cm top, you can choose a 66 cm version, to accompany the Flair O' chairs but also the sofas and chairs in the other families of the

B&B Italia Outdoor collection.

The tops are created in lightened grey concrete, a material already present in the B&B Italia Outdoor catalogue, and a surprising glossy glazed stoneware, a nostalgic material, used in the past for kitchen cooking surfaces. It is a material that is decidedly resistant to corrosive agents and the stains that can be caused by food, drinks and the typical situations of outdoor life. Produced with an artisanal technique, after a slow, single firing process at a temperature of 250 °C, the material is manually glazed by airbrush, a technique that allows for a unique depth and variety of colour. The chromatic variations include an ocean blue rich in pleasant nuances, a sophisticated clay colour and a classic dove grey tone.

The base-frame is always made of moulded grey cement, a choice that gives Allure O' Outdoor extreme solidity and an appearance that easily adapts to any outdoor furnishing situation.

After the success of the indoor version, the Flair O' chair is enriched with a surprising outdoor version. Geometrically similar to the indoor one, it is characterized by a sturdy, lightweight aluminum frame completely covered with an interlacing of polypropylene ribbons, following a meticulous hand-crafted process.

In particular, the backrest is woven on a special circular loom (tombolo) in line with an ancient technique typical of the area where the B&B Italia headquarter is located. To fine-tune it, Monica Armani collaborated with unPIZZO, a #design studio based in Cantù, which specializes in the recovery and development of traditional weaving techniques revisited in a contemporary key and applied to the furnishing sector.

Two padded cushions complete the chair, defining its shape and providing even more comfort.
The seat cushion has a truncated cone shape that fits perfectly into the frame of the base, while the backrest accomodates a loose cushion that can be arranged as desired.

Flair O' Outdoor is proposed in two heights to match with the two heights of the Allure O' Outdoor tables. In addition to the classic seating height of 47 cm, a new less imposing height of 42 cm
has been introduced, less stiff and more devoted to relaxation, particularly suitable for lounge settings, small terraces and even for boats. Both versions can be covered with interlacing in night blue, clay and dove grey colors, to be matched in harmony or in contrast to the Allure O 'Outdoor tables.

The Cordoba armchair doubles its range with the introduction of its outdoor version. The shape remains the same as the indoor one, combining precise #design, ergonomics, comfort and environmental responsibility, but the materials are all new.

In the new look, the frame in natural teak wood is combined with a polypropylene reinforced canvas cover, particularly suitable
for the outdoor dimension. The touch is pleasantly rough and reminiscent of a natural fabric in every way. To emphasize the harmonic and relaxed image of the armchair, the covers are offered in colors inspired by nature: green, blue, brick and dove grey.

To allow convenient maintenance of the structure, the coverings can be easily removed when needed. A choice that also represents the desire to move in the direction of an increasingly responsible #design. All the components of Cordoba Outdoor, at the end of the life cycle of the product, can be separated and disposed of following the path most suitable for each material.
