The Green & Blue Room

Marazzi presents The Green & Blue Room, the new project by ACPV ARCHITECTS created for the Milan showroom

An exploration of the contract world in which colours and materials, traditional ceramics and high-tech stoneware, engage in a fascinating dialogue

To mark Milan #design Week 2023, Marazzi, international leader in the #design and production of ceramic surfaces, presents The Green & Blue Room, the new project by ACPV ARCHITECTS for its Milan Via Borgogna 2 showroom.

The installation explores the contract world and establishes a dialogue between traditional ceramics, ultra-large slabs, velvets, bronze, porcelains and ceramic sculptures, in a rich mix of materials where stoneware is the predominant feature.

“Our ‘The Green & Blue Room’ project creates an intimate, welcoming interior,” explains architect Patricia Viel, CEO of ACPV ARCHITECTS. “A tea parlour of exquisite refinement in a colour-scheme of subdued shades. The counter – with its elegant lines and bronze trims – in marble-effect stoneware, also used for the flooring, the bar wall and the tables, establishes a finely judged dialogue of textures and colours with the new Crogiolo Confetto collection.”

Small and large tile sizes become the #design tool for creating colour matches and contrapositions of materials between the various surfaces and forms, with attractive contrasts of glossy and matt finishes, high-tech stoneware and hand-crafted ceramics. “The project,” Patricia Viel continues, “illustrates the extreme versatility of ceramic materials, which have now achieved an unprecedented level of development and adaptability. Ancient yet eclectic, ceramics offer vast potential for future research and development to respond to ever-changing demands while maintaining their elegance and beauty.”

The new Crogiolo Confetto – achieved through Marazzi’s ceaseless technological research and innovation and a craftsman-like care and attention – rediscovers the beauty of authentic ceramics, with matt, velvety surfaces in 12 colours. Used for walls and furnishing features in Blu and Kaki green colours, it alternates brick tiles and Savoiardo 3D structures, emphasising forms and the hand-made effect.

With its sophisticated, minimalist #design, Confetto contrasts attractively with the glossy and matt stoneware of the extra-large Grande Marble Look, slabs, chosen in Verde Borgogna in satin-finish version for the floor and in glossy version for the tops of the tables and counter.
