Hand-crafted and cosmopolitan Design: Berto shows #Sofa4Manhattan
After DivanoXmanagua, Berto shows a new crowcradfting project, thought by more minds and created by more hands.
Sofa4Manhattan is dedicated to New York, city which hosts the company in the Living Showroom Design-Apart, place where the Italian manifacture lives and renews the concept of cooperation and collaboration.Sofa4Manhattan is born thanks to an idea of Stefano Micelli, Diego Paccagnella and Filippo Berto.
It wants to create a sofa for Manhattan and its citizens. After a first phase of workshop, two young designers Lera Moiseeva and Joe Graceffa have been chosen for the project. They have designed and created the Sofà, coordinated by Luca Nichetto.
On the 15th of March at the showroom of Design-Apart in New York, Sofa4Manhattan will come to life: designers, creative artists, artisans and public will take part to each phase of this creative process. All together in a work which joins the collective thought. Moreover there will be the legendary upholsterers of Berto, ready to share their knowledges with the participants to the co-production.
Sofa4Manhattan wants to confirm the openness of the company toward a new interpretation of design, production and distribution; the artisan becomes cosmopolitan, he looks beyond the boundaries and he gets in touch with different kind of works and thinkings...
