Kettering - 6 June 2016.   Agricultural tyre designer and manufacturer #apollovredestein participates in the highlight of the industry’s show calendar, Cereals 2016, with its range of new specially-designed agricultural tyres, the Vredestein Traxion Harvest, Versa and Endurion.

Hot on the heels of the latest Hanover Agritechnica trade show, Cereals 2016 (15-16 June, Chrishall, Cambridgeshire) is the first opportunity for #apollovredestein to showcase its new agricultural products in the #uk this year.

Apollo Vredestein continuously monitors the evolution of combines and foragers, along with potato and beet harvesters, recognising the need for tyres with increased load capacity, superior stability and maximum safety. A harvester tyre with the familiar Traxion profile, designed exclusively for optimal harvesting performance, has thus been introduced.

Highly productive harvesters have to work with a wide variety of loads. The Vredestein Traxion Harvest boasts a strong, yet flexible radial carcass, ideal for dealing with fluctuating variations of load and/or terrain. Its tread and sidewall have been developed to offer high resistance to penetration, while its special rubber compound is designed to prevent damage from sharp stubble or rocks, and promote even wear.

Three of the six existing Traxion Harvest sizes have been designed with CHO (Cyclic Harvesting Operation) technology in mind, and can handle up to 6% higher loads with tyre pressures that are 20% lower than standard. This lower pressure provides a substantially larger footprint, contributing to better traction and lower fuel consumption, while significantly reducing soil compaction - all factors that directly increase machine productivity and farmers’ income.

The Traxion Harvest has a unique curved cleat that guarantees stability and comfort, as adverse vibrations are absorbed by the lightly-curved tread contour.

Longer tread cleats in the centre of the tire make for smootherrolling and reduced lateral instability on uneven ground. The angled cleat ends are set deep into the straight sidewall, further enhancing overall stability.

The #apollovredestein Traxion Versa, for telescopic handlers, compact wheel loaders and backhoe loaders, is an ideal solution for vehicles that run on soft surfaces. The tyre offers good grip on loose soils as well as comfort and wear resistance on hard surfaces. The curved Traxion cleat, results in a low and evenly-distributed surface pressure which minimises wear.

The Versa has transverse tread cleats placed across the traction zone at a significant distance from each other. This ensures excellent self-cleaning properties in all types of difficult soil conditions.  The relatively high-load capacity and high traction also make the Traxion Versa very suitable for steering axles on combine harvesters.

The Traxion Endurion is the hard-soil application for telescopic handlers, compact wheel loaders and backhoe loaders. The robust carcass and resistant tread, with a 44% rubber percentage, ensures maximum radial and lateral stability while maintaining optimal comfort. Furthermore, the high tread rubber percentage, in combination with an enhanced rubber compound and cleat height, guarantees an impressive lifespan.

The size range of the successful radial Flotation Trac implement tyre will be extended with another four sizes specially developed for all types of trailers and tankers, increasing the range to an impressive 22 specifications. Its all-round capabilities make it the perfect tyre for arable land and grassland, as well as for transport activities. The innovative tread and strong, flexible carcass construction of the Flotation Trac have been designed to deliver a top performance that combines machine capacity with prevention of damage to the soil structure and a long tyre life.

Part of the same range, the #apollovredestein Traxion+ and TraxionXXL were tested and awarded the latest DLG Approval 2015 in the “Efficiency Analysis in Everyday Routine”, proving to be on a par, and often better than similar European premium brands.

Both tyres were tested on a Claas Axion 850 in the spring and summer of 2015.

The Vredestein Traxion+was tested in sizes 650/65 R42 and 540/65 R30: important test criteria included fuel consumption in the field and on the road, productivity, comfort and traction. The Vredestein tyres had the best results in nearly all test segments as well as overall.

The Vredestein TraxionXXL, in the unique size 710/75 R38, was compared to the reference size 710/70 R38. The test criteria focused on performance in the field (fuel consumption, productivity, traction). The test showed that the Vredestein TraxionXXL 710/75 R38 with corresponding 28-inch front tyre provided a significantly better performance with a 7.5% higher efficiency.

The DLG (Deutsche Landwirtschafts Gesellschaft) Test Centre in Groβ Umstadt, near Frankfurt, is the benchmark for certified agricultural technology and equipment, and is a leader in testing and certification in agriculture.
