Microhome 2020 and Yoga House on a Cliff competitions are launched!

As buildings and cities continue to grow, the strain on the environment and the negative impact on communities is increasing. As the second in a new architecture competition series appreciating small-scale architecture, MICROHOME 2020 is calling for submissions for a new concept in housing, one that's just 25 square metres in size.
The MICROHOME 2020 architecture ideas competition is searching for designs that reinvent the idea of the micro home. Rather than just scaling down a standard home, participants are encouraged to use new technology and innovative materials to create a new aesthetic and layout for a modular micro home that could be located anywhere in the world.
The jury will favour sustainable designs and those projects that look to solve economic, social, and cultural problems through the establishment of new architectural methods.
The Vale de Moses yoga retreat, in the secluded Oleiros region of Portugal, has a long history connecting it to Tibet. 400 years after local priest Padre Antonio de Andrade became one of the first Europeans to enter Tibet, the region still honours its connection to Tibet with the Vale de Moses retreat which teaches Tibetan practices to visitors from around the world.
For the Yoga House on a Cliff architecture competition, participants are tasked with designing a new yoga practice space for the retreat.
The Yoga House on a Cliff competition is open until November 12, 2020, with winners of the 10,000 € prize to be announced on February 25, 2021.
