The award of European #yacht of The Year 2020, in the Luxury Cruiser category, awarded to the AMEL 60, like  the AMEL 50 two years before, was a new recognition of the know-how of the 30 different trades and 140 employees of the AMEL shipyard.

In order to share their beautiful work and their pride of receiving this new award, the AMEL teams wanted to demonstrate their passion for the various professions by opening the doors of their shipyard to the public through a dedicated page “AMEL, sharing our savoir-faire” on their website. The desire to do so is even greater in this very particular year when the AMEL teams have been absent, at least physically, from the nautical shows, pontoons and human relations with their customers and prospects.

PERFECTIONISM, PASSION AND SHARING: THE AMEL TEAMS TALK ABOUT THEIR EXPERIENCE.
For the shipyard teams, each sailboat is unique, not just a number, and is part of the AMEL family. Each sailboat, before joining its owner and beginning its new journey, is born, and built little by little by the expert hands of the 140 employees of the yard. It is this story that the AMEL shipyard wishes to share with as many #people as possible by giving a voice to the men and women who build with enthusiasm and professionalism, the AMEL 50 and 60.

"30 TRADES ANS 140 EMPLOYEES"
The "AMEL, sharing our savoir-faire" page therefore offers a collection of video clips in order to discover or rediscover the trades and #people who bring the AMEL 50 and 60 to life.

Among the 30 trades working to build an AMEL, 12 professionals testify through a video interview and a job description:
Production carpenter | Plumber | Carpenter fitter | Marine electrician | Trimmer | Parts laminator| Laminator gelcoater |Electronics technician | Lay-up man| Marine mechanic fitter | Finishing carpenter | boat preparation manager

They testify: ·

« At AMEL, we don’t build boats: we build the customer’s boat ». Dominique Dugué, production carpenter

« We don’t build boats like everyone else: we put our heart into our work and add that extra little something that makes us stand apart from the pack ». Philippe Chancellé, marine electrician.

« What I like most, once I’ve finished my work on the hull and deck of a boat, is seeing that the two elements fit together perfectly ». Sébastien Clousier, trimmer.

« If I had to describe AMEL in a few words, it would be quality of workmanship and finish. Our quality standards are very high». Clément Da Silva, electronics technician.

« AMEL is a company with a family spirit and has always possessed the finest know-how ». Christophe Bardin, carpenter fitter.

« I believe AMEL boats are the Rolls Royce of the sea. That’s what a lot of #people say and that’s exactly how we like it: we’ll do what it takes to keep this status our very own! », Didier Lacellerie, marine mechanic-fitter.

« What I like about my job is taking the product all the way to the ultimate expression of its #design. It’s always impressive to see a finished sailboat, and to have achieved a result that’s really pleasing and good-looking ».  Florian Lévêque, finishing carpenter.
