Even greater performance and fascination for the top-of-the-line model of the Mercedes GLE-Class. The engineers, technicians and designers of #brabus (Brabus-Allee, D-46240 Bottrop, phone + 49 / (0) 2041 / 777-0, fax + 49 / (0) 2041 / 777 111, Internet www.brabus.com) created a high-performance automobile in a class of its own based on the current GLE 63 S 4MATIC+ SUV or Coupe - the #brabus 800 #supercar.

The #brabus PowerXtra B40S-800 performance upgrade increases peak power of the four-liter, eight-cylinder twin-turbo engine by 138 kW / 188 hp (185 bhp) to 588 kW / 800 hp (789 bhp). At the same time, peak torque grows by 150 Nm (111 lb-ft) to 1,000 Nm (737 lb-ft). As a result, the supercar shoots from rest to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.4 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 280 km/h (174 mph).

Naked-carbon aerodynamic-enhancement components and tailor-made #brabus wheels up to the 24-inch king-sized format give the SUV an equally sporty and exclusive appearance.

BRABUS creates #brabus fine leather appointments from the finest leather and Alcantara in any desired color to customize the interior.

The #brabus 800 high-performance engine turns the GLE 63 S SUV and of course also its counterpart with coupe body style into a high-performance automobile in a class of its own. The #brabus powerplant engineers upgrade the four-liter twin-turbo V8 of the top-of-the-line model of the current GLE generation with the powerful #brabus PowerXtra B40S-800 performance kit.

The changes to the engine hardware involve the turbocharging system. Two reconfigured #brabus high-performance turbochargers with larger compressor unit and modified core assembly produce a maximum boost pressure of 1.6 bar.

The engineers reprogrammed the mapping of the electronic engine control unit in order to recalibrate the electronic boost pressure control and to further optimize the power delivery without jeopardizing the engine’s durability. To this end, they conducted extensive tests on state-of-the-art stationary engine test benches. At the same time, #brabus carried out extended test-drives on the racetrack and on public roads. The new software is introduced by the plug-and-play #brabus PowerXtra auxiliary control module, which is adapted to the engine electronics of the GLE 63 S.

The result is an increase in power by 138 kW / 188 hp (185 bhp) and a boost in torque by 150 Nm (111 lb-ft). 588 kW / 800 hp (789 bhp) at 5,900 rpm and a peak torque of 1,000 Nm (737 lb-ft) on tap at a low 3,500 rpm make the five-door one of the most powerful of its kind.

The performance speaks for itself: From rest, the #brabus 800 with SPEEDSHIFT nine-speed sports transmission and 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive sprints to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.4 seconds. Gears are shifted either automatically or manually with the ergonomic #brabus RACE aluminum paddle shifters on the steering wheel. The top speed is electronically limited to 280 km/h (174 mph). In addition, #brabus offers the optional #brabus Memory System, which can permanently deactivate the standard automatic start-stop system.

It goes without saying that every #brabus engine delivers not only outstanding performance, but also flawless daily practicality and durability. The world’s largest independent #automotive refinement specialist documents this with the three-year or 100,000-km/62,000-mile #brabus Tuning Warranty (see #brabus Warranty Terms and Conditions, updated July 2013).

The #brabus stainless-steel sports exhaust system with actively controlled exhaust flaps optimizes the engine’s performance and produces a thrilling V8 exhaust note. This system makes active sound management possible from the driver’s seat. It allows switching at the touch of a button between a throaty V8 sound in ‘Sport’ mode and a subtle whisper in ‘Coming Home’ mode.

Thrilling looks and optimal aerodynamic function: The #brabus designers developed bodywork components made of the hi-tech material carbon fiber for both body styles of the GLE 63. They are available with a choice of high-gloss or matt coating. The front spoiler lip at the lower part of the bumper in the radiator grille gives the #brabus 800 an even more distinctive face in concert with the two air intakes and the red signature stripes. But that’s not all:  Thanks to its sophisticated shape, the spoiler minimizes front-axle lift at high speeds, thus further improving the handling stability. The side air intakes in the front bumper are upgraded with tailor-made carbon surrounds.
