Comunicato Stampa disponibile solo in lingua originale.

Along with the traditional concept of places geared towards accommodation, leisure and rest, there is now the concept of multi-purpose spaces for working and collaborating, taking advantage of communal areas

According to a study conducted by #Actiu on the use and potential of hybrid spaces, the environments that will be key in the future will be offices with new uses (65.6%), followed by co-working spaces (51.2%) and hotels (39.5%)

Casa de Mareas is an example of an establishment that has embraced this trend

Castalla/Alicante, 14th June 2021.- The Covid-19 pandemic has accelerated the transformation of hotels, which had already got underway before the pandemic broke out, and added, to the traditional concept of places geared towards accommodation, leisure and relaxation, that of multi-purpose spaces where work and collaboration can take place, taking advantage of communal areas to create co-working areas.

Hotels are now being seen as an ideal place to work. Meeting and event rooms are commonplace in hotels; what are new are hybrid spaces. Spaces that merge different uses and can be easily configured to respond to multiple requirements and diverse needs, especially remote work.

"At #Actiu, we want to enrich the use of hotels, both in terms of leisure and work. We spend many hours in communal spaces and the aim is to invest all that time well. It is about reinventing these spaces, giving them a touch of #design, functionality and safety, making them more welcoming and incorporating new uses.", comments Soledat Berbegal, Counselor and Head of Corporate Reputation at #Actiu.

Hybrid spaces everywhere

According to a study conducted by #Actiu on the use and potential of hybrid spaces, respondents indicated that the key future environments will be offices with new uses (65.6%), followed by co-working spaces (51.2%), hotels (39.5%), cafés and restaurants (36.2%), transport terminals (20.4%) and shops or shopping centres (6.9%).

Hotels ready for guests to come back

With the holidays and the high season in the #hotel industry just around the corner, and after a tough year or so, hotels must ensure a series of connectivity services for their users, allowing them to hold videoconferences, keep track of a project, answer e-mails or draw up a report, and offer specific spaces that provide privacy, comfort and well-being, with a #design and furniture that make their jobs easier.

"Remote working will also change the way we live because an increasing number of people will combine leisure and co-working formulas" states Soledat Berbegal"Hotels are therefore becoming perfect places to disconnect, but also to work and collaborate, so companies must offer solutions for this, generating new opportunities for hotels".

Multi-purpose and comfortable furniture

To respond to these new needs, #Actiu has a wide range of multi-purpose products, with a friendly and multifunctional aesthetic, which stand out for their comfort and ergonomic #design. These qualities enable them to fit into all types of communal spaces and, at the same time, offer the same performance and comfort as professional designer furniture. The Tabula and Colectiva tables, the Bend soft seating collection, the Noom 50 and Wing chairs are an example of the versatility that hotels require.

A charming hybrid hotel

One example of an establishment that has assimilated the new mindset of guests and their new needs is Casa de Mareas. A house with seven suites

which seeks the physical, mental and emotional well-being of its visitors. Located in Escalante (Cantabria), it champions co-living format #design to optimise community life, whether shared with friends, family or work colleagues, to which it has in turn added the principle of co-working, thanks to a new shared work area that has been equipped with #Actiu furniture. Specifically, with operative solutions such as the Talent mobile and foldable tables and the eFit, professional chair, both designed by Alegre #design.

In the refurbishment of this 16th century country house, all the original materials have been maintained and #design trends have been incorporated by applying Neuro Architecture principles. The space seeks to provide physical and mental well-being, as is also fostered by #Actiu, whose corporate headquarters became the world's first industrial building to be awarded the LEED and WELL Platinum certifications, which accredit it as a healthy and sustainable space.
