Double-Height Ceilings – How Can They Make a Difference in a Room

Double-Height Ceilings can add style and personality to any room they are put in. With that being said, it is time to show you some examples and how they can make a difference.

A double-height tower room in a Manhattan penthouse. Totally renovated by the interior designer Delphine Krakoff and the architect Mark Ferguson. Here, George Smith sofas and a Tobia Scarpa cocktail table.

Here, a barn-inspired home, designed by Frances D’Haene of D’Apostrophe #design. Located in the city of New York! This is a clear example of a double-height living area, with sofas by Living Divani and paintings by Alberto Di Fabio.

Let’s have a quick trip to the Aspen Mountains, because of the amazing views of course. This double-height living room has some custom-made sofas by the designer William Sofield.

Additionally to the living room, here, a double-height ceiling in the hallway. A unique Manhattan apartment renovated by the architect David Mann. This one includes and Hervé Van der Straeten ceiling light from Ralph Pucci International.

Our list of double-height ceilings continues with this family room. The architect Mark Rios and the interior designer Waldo Fernandez were responsible for this amazing renovation. As a result of this renovation, we can see Gianfranco Frattini lounge chairs, Eugène Printz palm-wood stools, and a custom-made sofa in a Castel Fabric. Also, a cocktail table by Nicholas Mongiardo.

Double-Height Inspiration

In order to add more space, a new double-height solarium, created by Frédéric Fekkai and Shirin von Wulffen, made all the difference in their home.

Manhattan is the place where we can find double-height ceilings all the way! Which is a good thing, because there’s another example of a double-height living room. With curtains of Sahco fabric, side by side, with Poltrona Frau sofas.

A double-height library of a Toronto Home. Katherine Newman and Peter Cebulak are both responsible for this iconic space.

Another proof of how double-height ceilings can make all the difference. The architect Benedikt Bolza designed the mirrors and heated copper towel racks, such an amazing living room, by the architect Thierry Despont. Jeff Zimmerman’s light fixture makes everything right in this Long Island Home.

Equally important to refer, is this entrance hall inspired by a church nave. With a Balsamo Antique table, side by side with chairs and armchair by Lucca Antiques.

Laura Santos’s New York Townhouse has color all around. With a Vladimir Kagan sofa and a cocktail table from Galerie Van den Akker. Identically with all the rooms, we have seen so far, this is equally amazing.

In addition to all living rooms, there’s another one in this Los Angeles Home. With a Vladimir Kagan Contour chaise from Ralph Pucci and an incredible floor lamp by Bottega Veneta.

This is a clear example of how natural light changes a room. In particular this double-height living room of a Tenessee home. Renovated and decorated by McAlpine Booth & Ferrier Interiors.

In conclusion, we may say that double-height ceilings really do make all the difference in any room. Choose them wisely, like the interior designer Jean-Louis Deniot did for a family based in Paris.
