Politecnico di Milano Workshopp of hydrogen propulsion in yachting and larger ships

Friday 9 April at MADE Competence Center 4.0 In the heart of the POLIMI Campus in Bovisa, the first edition of the workshop took place: “Nautical and Hydrogen”, potential and challenges for the future of #green propulsion.

The day opened with Professor #andrearatti of the Master in Yacht & Cruising Vessel #design and #andreasianesi President of the Polytechnic Foundation already part of the Hydrogen Joint Research Platform (Hydrogen JRP) project created by the Polytechnic Foundation of Milan, together with the Polytechnic of Milan and the three founding companies Edison S.p.A., Eni S.p.A and Snam S.p.A. (some of the major italian corporation operating in the sector for the energies and commodities).

The morning session begins with the intervention of the American organization Parley for the Oceans which deals with direct actions to protect the seas and oceans whose speaker, Filippo Ceragioli, Parnership & Collaborations at Parley for the Oceans for yachting.

Ceragioli has strongly emphasized the need for the shipowners of the future to be the first to invest in technologies aimed at respecting the oceans. Parley's mission in yachting adds Ceragioli is precisely that of influencing the choices of the #people of those who in this case buy the ships, who with his decision can impact both the supply chain and the use of the ship itself.

Parley presents the "HY-Plug" company by Camille Lopez, winner of two competitions in the Principality of Monaco in 2021, the "The Mark Challenge" organized by the International University of Monaco (IUM) and the “Monaco Ocean Protection Challenge” (MoPC) supported by the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, the Monaco Oceanographic Museum and the IUM.  HY-Plug is a consulting firm specialized in the marine energy transition. The company provides market studies for yachts and ports to help them implementing new technologies and durable energies onboard. The founder Camille, is coming from the automotive industry with years of experience in Citroën, DS Automobiles and Seat France brands. She worked among the entire value chain and do know the challenges of implementing new solutions in the existing processes. Passionate about mechanic and boats, she is an advocate of the possible sustainable solutions in the marine industry for each tailor-made projects.
