Everyday designs for an extraordinary summer outdoors

The long-awaited days of giving up our bodies and minds to the beach have arrived. The anesthetic effect produced by the sun and water is simply unbeatable when it comes to relaxing and switching off. In the Mediterranean basin we are fortunate to be able to make the most of the proximity of this paradise-like place on Earth, but the travelling instinct within us is constantly demanding us to explore others.

And this is how Diabla, the newest brand of the Gandia Blasco Group, takes us to the Monkey Beach in Phi Phi, Thailand. Here, the waters are peaceful and the vegetation is fresh, with an exotic wildlife that leaves little time to rest in the PATOSO poufs, enjoying an intimate space created with the help of the CALCETÍN (Spanish for socks) separators.

Only in spaces committed to style and creativity, can CALCETÍN become an original separator and a soft seat can rise on its legs to turn into a charismatic PATOSO pouf, winner of the NYCxDESIGN Awards 2022 in the Outdoor Seating category. Alejandra Gandía-Blasco uses the method of the master Achille Castiglioni to reflect on the use of everyday objects and gives it a twist to create, through a stroke of wit, new associations of ideas with those same elements. The result is innovative: the creation of two multifunctional, curvilinear and captivating designs.
