Five decorative pieces by Sagarminaga Atelier to give as Christmas gifts

Comunicato Stampa disponibile solo in lingua originale.

Sagarminaga Atelier is a Basque craft studio that uses vegetable fibres, wood and natural dyes to create sculptural and decorative decorative pieces that integrate organically into architecture and interior design projects of all kinds.

Its compositions use sustainable and biodegradable materials and are the result of the craftsmanship and technical work of the multidisciplinary team, based in Bilbao. With the help of technical solutions linked to design and digital cutting, they turn natural materials into pieces of great visual expressiveness.

With an eye on the Christmas holidays, which are just around the corner, Sagarminaga Atelier has selected five decorative pieces that can become a special gift for friends and family: “The Christmas Tree", “Little Monster Stool", "The mirror and its waves", "Magic bubbles" and "A body and a jacket”.

"These five pieces reflect the prêt à porter universe of Sagarminaga Collection. Let's give the gift of values that craftsmanship shows us: respect, honesty, a legacy of transgenerational knowledge without borders. Love for work, for detail, for people. This selection has a fresh vision with touches of humour. At this time of the year, red must always be present, synonymous with passion, attraction and fun. Let the magic arise between us in these moments of uncertainty", says Gabriela Sagarminaga, the driving force behind Sagarminaga Atelier.

Five products

1) The Christmas Tree

The joy and illusion of Christmas is reflected in this tree, made of hand-braided esparto grass pleitas on a wooden base. Available in different sizes: 50 cm high x 30 cm wide; 1 m high x 60 cm wide; 1.6 m high x 80 cm wide; and 2 metres high x 115 cm wide. Price 210 euros.

2) Little Monster stool

Standing on the threshold between art object and design furniture, the edges of this stool evoke the esparto grass, from which the natural, hard-wearing fibre used by weavers to make espadrilles and baskets, is harvested. Overflowing with potential from every angle and captured in the midst of the creative process, it occupies a space between the mane of an animal and the work in progress. Made of esparto grass, the tops are made of pith and the base of metal.

The measurements are: high stool 28cm x 28cm x 28cm x 75cm; low stool 29cm x 29cm x 46cm; and table 56cm x 56cm x 56cm x 56cm. Price 520 euros.

3) The mirror and its waves

The vibration of nature creates waves on the mirror, which acquires volume and goes beyond its functional use to give life to spaces, merging them with nature. It measures 130 cm x 82 cm x 10 cm and is made of rattan on a wooden base. Price 750 euros.

4) Magic bubbles

It is the little sister of the Bubbles piece, more fun and playful. From balance and lightness, it becomes radial and hypnotic. It is made of esparto grass on an esparto base and measures 107cm x 90cm x 9cm. Price 670 euros.

5) A body and a jacket

This piece simulates the closure of a jacket that fits us perfectly as if it were the creation of a tailor. With an incomparable aplomb it maintains the naturalness of the fibres. It measures 90cm x 70cm x 5cm and is made of esparto grass on a wooden base. Price: 570 euros.
