AMANDA: a more contemporary alternative with a revamped base, of the iconic free-standing hammock

A product of great charm and unique designs, AMANDA is an everlasting icon of #unopiu since 1988: one of the most authentic and timeless symbols of the company. The project of this freestanding hammock was born of the idea, as simple as original, to assemble together some
frames of curved laminated wood with a net of handmade cord.

Among the first free-standing hammocks to be put on the outdoor furniture market, created to
give relaxing precious moments and to comfortably accommodate two people, AMANDA is a
big success from the very beginning until it becomes a brand cult product which is widely used
in every outdoor space, from a city terrace or a country garden to a poolside.
In 2021, #unopiu launches a more contemporary and innovative version of the product in addition to the already available version.

The structure is always made of laminated impregnated wood but with steel hardware in order
to improve the performance. The most evident difference consists of a new base, in laminated
wood in the original version, from now on also available with two zinc-coated and sandblasted
steel cylinders for a more contemporary touch, thus innovating and enhancing its #design.

The cords are also available in two versions: the classic white cotton 100% variant or the polypropylene grey mélange colour one. The first proposal, fully organic, is extremely elegant and it
requires to be put in a safe and covered place in case of bad weather. On the contrary, the synthetic fibres of the second variant result to be sturdy and weather resistant.

The possibility of customizing the colour of the wood structure allows to meet different furniture
tastes and needs.

Solid, practical and well-finished, AMANDA can be placed in any environment with absolute
safety and great liberty of movement. Moreover, it can stay in the open air with very little
maintenance. All these features make of AMANDA a very suitable product both for residential
and contract contexts.

joins the collection C’EST LA VIE

A square-shaped and welcoming table, from the timeless appeal, joins the collection C’EST LA
VIE: the highly successful outdoor furniture line designed by Michele Bönan for #unopiu.
For lunch, for supper, or even for small gatherings, this brand-new table C’EST LA VIE broadens
an indeed complete collection. However, this furniture line missed a particular complement
around which important moments, celebrations and storytelling take place.

As for the other proposals of the collection, modular seating, sofas, sun beds and the smoking
table, the glossy mahogany has been chosen even this time for its excellent properties. This refined wood is generally used for exquisite English furniture and sophisticated nautical interiors,
and at the same time, for its resistance: a quality which makes of it an ideal type of wood for
outdoor furnishings.

To #design C’EST LA VIE, the main idea was to create not only outdoor furniture. The result was a
collection of refined and classic-style proposals which can even suit the interiors. C’EST LA VIE is
also a flexible line: the sofa is made of modular elements, allowing to create many compositions.
Each proposal is also thought to intensely live every moment of the day.

EXPERIENCE:
A versatile and modern table

For the outdoor life lovers, a table can indeed become an essential element of patio furniture,
especially under a pergola or any covered outdoor space.

Design, shape, sizes and materials are all main features. EXPERIENCE is a versatile table from the
simple #design, suitable for more classic or modern spaces, and it can easily pair with other furnishings.

Entirely made of graphite-coloured recycled aluminium, it is weather-proof, sturdy, enduring and
it requires very little maintenance.

The tabletop is engraved by elegant and decorative grooves which symmetrically punctuates the
design rhythm. The legs are slim, rounded and tapered downwards. The general result is a table
which conveys lightness and harmony while favouring convivial moments.

Available in two different sizes, the table is extendible in both variants according to the number of
the guests: the biggest rectangular version reaches a maximum length of 240 cm.

The table EXPERIENCE is part of a wide collection from the clean lines and well-finished #design.
The line range is composed of a stackable sun lounger, an armchair, three different small armchairs,
of which one is stackable, and a squared coffee table. For the seating, the aluminium harmonically
matches with an antique brown, recyclable, synthetic and handwoven fibre WAPROLACEÒ which
creates a perfect colour combination.

EXY:
Tradition gets dressed
in colour and lightness

EXY is a complete, light-hearted, playful and coloured collection which draws inspiration from the
traditional seating made of wood and woven straw. Those chairs, hand-crafted by wise artisans,
used to be placed in the countryside, or through the relaxed streets of some old villages, to converse kindly in the open air, on the home threshold, with the neighbours and passers-by. From
this bucolic and time-honoured feeling, EXY was born but reinterpreted in the shape and in the
material through the innovative look of #unopiu.

The company #design challenge was to create a modern and versatile outdoor collection composed of easily foldable elements which would result coherent and harmonious with one another.

The EXY collection features the extreme lightness of the aluminium which makes it very practical
and functional to use. The seating and the tops texture, inspired by the traditional woven straw
chairs decoration, is made through a laser cut process which gives the aluminium a modern and
geometrical pattern.

The particular cross shape, caused by the furniture lateral legs intersection, also gives the name
to the collection which refers to the word EXIT. This name remarks #unopiu outdoor vocation to
furnish the outdoors with complete and all-round proposals.

The range of the EXY collection features a chair, a bench, an extendible table, a stool and a bar
table. All the elements of the line are foldable in recyclable aluminium: these two features make
of it an extremely practical, sturdy and enduring proposal. Furthermore, the bench has movable
backrests that can be placed in different positions along its perimeter, thus allowing to play with
the seating as needed.

EXY is suitable for both residential and contract environments, and it is also available in 6 different
colours: beyond the more neutral tones, white and graphite, you can even choose between mustard, red, violet and blue.

LES ARCS:
the irresistible and embracing curves
of the aluminium

In 2021, #unopiu revamps the collection LES ARCS designed in collaboration with Meneghello
Paolelli Associati. Modern and at the same time romantic, inspired by the tradition of the past
with a marked neoclassical touch, the collection LES ARCS broadens its range of products while
rethinking its form and its materials.

The line, launched in 2014, featured the very original #design of the seating backrests’ intertwined
arches made of soft fabric and cord and a refined teak structure. That collection consisted of a
sofa, an armchair and a rectangular coffee table.

In 2021, #unopiu proposes a brand-new series of furnishings with a fresh and contemporary #design. The strong and distinguishing sign of the arches is conserved but they get more embracing, like a real hug, and a new material texture is given. Indeed, the aluminium has been chosen
for the new products: an extremely lightweight and recyclable material, efficient and versatile,
from the ever-required contemporary features of eco-compatibility that thus transform the style
and the functionality of this collection.

The new outdoor living proposal of LES ARCS sees the addition of a small armchair, a small sofa
and a round table. The small armchair recalls the softness of the original lines as the round table
with central base which enhances the decorative pattern of the intertwined arches. Four interlaced arches branch off from the tables’ central base in form of sunburst, sustaining a decorated
and light aluminium top. The optical effect is outstanding, also thanks to the aluminium lightness,
seeming to remind about a flower which is blooming in the Spring’s splendour.

Curvaceous and elegant lines mark the seating as well with the light and delicate motif of their
armrests which flow into the backrest and into the front legs with extreme elegance to create just
one sinuous line. The seating can also be stackable if needed, thus offering space-saving solutions required both for residential and contract contexts. The finishes’ great quality makes of LES
ARCS an extraordinarily refined collection but at the same time slender, fresh and coloured: the
colour is customizable between a palette of 7 hues.

home. The pergolas and the structures, particularly, allow to create intimate and circumscribed areas: some tiny oases where to protect you from the sun or to enjoy a sweetly cool and reinvigorating air.

Unopiù launches NAGI, a system of structure for the outdoors, innovative, from the original and well-finished #design, made of impregnated pine wood, offering different possibilities of configuration. Its name draws inspiration from the shape and the meaning of the Japanese Kanji “wind” and “still” whose symbol recalls a stylized pergola.

Industrially manufactured with artisan wit, innovating the tradition, #unopiu brandnew proposal features a #design from the circular section profiles which give it a sense of great lightness. The round-shaped poles, positioned in a balance between light and shadow tricks, solids and voids, give it a contemporary and refined touch with Japanese influences. The joints are invisible and also very practical to assemble, allowing a flawless aesthetics with no visible hardware and an extreme functionality of assembly. The impregnated pine wood, sturdy and resistant, and the great attention to the details make of NAGI an ideal product for any outdoor area, from residential to contract contexts.

From the attached pergola version, to the free-standing variant, to the covered parking space option, up to customized solutions, NAGI allows many configurations. The type of rooftop can be also personalized between several choices: with wooden slats, the acrylic cloth roll version, with bamboo shades, with a waterproof roofing pagoda for free-standing pergolas, or the more sophisticated variant with wooden slats and led modules. NAGI can be even equipped with modular accessories like flowerpots and panels which are available in different sizes and motifs like diagonal

URBN BALCONY:
brand-new elements join the system

How to enhance the urban balconies? Spaces which are not fully exploited or lived? URBN BALCONY was born of #unopiu intuition, in collaboration with the designers Meneghello Paolelli Associati, to answer this specific need.

A product system from the simple though innovative #design, URBN BALCONY consists of a modular
structure in refined and resistant iroko wood, which can be fixed to the wall or to the ceiling. This main unit can be enriched by a series of accessories, allowing to create micro-furniture solutions to fulfil different functions in a limited space.

Ever-evolving, versatile and modular, URBN BALCONY adds new accessories in 2021: unreleased
furnishings, multifunctional container benches, a system of tents, a tiny and refined tripod stool and a mini collection of foldable chair and table, fully thought to be placed in the containers of URBN BALCONY. The table and the seating exploit the Wood-Skin® technology: on the aluminium structure, “a wooden fabric” is laid down to be moulded and to become the seating, the backrest or the tabletop. Thanks to its particular feature of being “a structural fabric”, it rolls up when you fold the chair and the table to place them in the containers.

The table and the seating, as the tripod stool, are suitable to be used not only on the balconies but in every outdoor area with limited space. The tripod stool by #unopiu, which is inspired by the camping accessories but reinterpreted under an elegant and modern perspective, is enhanced by a ring, working as a pivot and as a decoration at the very same time. Nomadic object, very easy to transport, from the small size but sturdy; this element perfectly suits a balcony to accommodate a friend at the last moment or it is perfect for a picnic in a park.

The furnishings/benches can become flowerpots or containers, the tents systems shade and grant privacy according to your needs.

These unreleased accessories, that you can configurate as you wish, join a range of elements like
flowerpots, pots, small cupboards, shelves and clothes rack which can be transformed into worktops and vice versa.

Eating, reading, studying, working from home but in the open air, hanging the laundry, gardening and relaxing are just a few of the activities you can do in the “renovated” space of a balcony. A small outdoor area which can be fully lived thanks to URBN BALCONY to become a precious home extension when you wish to live in the open air, especially in the cities, in the sunny days.

URBN BALCONY has obtained the Special Mention at the German #design Awards 2021 in the category Excellent Product #design – Furniture.
