Trip extensionNew TRIP designs by #diabla: catch them by the sea
Sinking your bare feet in the sand is the ultimate holiday ritual. A liberating and relaxing experience, especially if the sand is good enough, as is the case in the dunes of the Lençóis Maranhenses, a magical desert. Their seductive white colour and sparkling surface are an irresistible call to take off your shoes.
Equipped with the new foldable and transportable designs from Diabla’s TRIP collection, we set off to the Lençóis Maranhenses national park in northwest Brazil, on the shores of the Atlantic, to embark on a walk through a unique landscape that combines a soft, white sandy
landscape with crystal clear lagoons and an abundance of aquatic fauna. We took off our shoes to sink our feet into the sand and observe its diverse ecosystems, enjoying the comfort of TRIP, a line of vibrant furniture that accompanies you wherever you go on holiday.
Now, this “family of holiday makers” with a nomadic soul is expanding with new designs by José A. Gandía-Blasco Canales and Borja García. These are a director’s chair, an expressive hammock and three circular tables in different heights and diameters, lightweight, functional creations that are easily adaptable adapt to any time and place.
The tubular powder-coated aluminium sections, ever-present in the collection, give rise to two seats that reinvent the classical elements of industrial #design in a fresher and more casual way. “We like to continue reinventing folding systems from another era to transfer them to the universe of aluminium”, emphasizes Borja García.
After envisioning its possibilities in a contemporary context, #diabla once again plays with materials, dimensions and colors, giving rise to a simplified and contemporary director’s chair and a sensual and expressive hammock. The tables, in three different sizes, debut in this collection and become the perfect allies both of the new pieces and of the already well-known TRIP reclining chairs and hammocks.
